Jeudi Journal - Don't Talk to Me

"Don't talk to me after coffee either" is the quote this week.

For this journal page I coloured the page light green at the top with a faint blue stencilled pattern over it.  This was to represent wallpaper in the house so I purposely let it hit in some places and also changed the depth of ink I was putting through the stencil to get light and dark shades.

Next I hunted through some magazines to find something to do with 'coffee'.  I cut out a platter of buns, found a milk jug and sugar bowl and put these on the page so that they rested on the light brown bit at the bottom, coloured and stencilled to represent floor covering.

I did feel that the lounging girl really was saying, with her body language, that she did not want anyone to talk to her - even when she had finished the coffee in her hand.  The other figure who has just called in to see her is looking a little confused with a turn of her head.

Happily I can now include this page in my journal in Art Journal Journey where the challenge is to use "Green" in your work - wallpaper and clothing feature quite a lot of different shades of green, hurray!

Great page, we chose one of the same figures as well. I forgot all about the green until I had finished it. Well done finding all the coffee things to go with it, I opted out and just drew a mug.

Love the magazine bits, Neet - great idea. The girl on the ground definitely looks as if she just can't be bothered with anyone or anything! Perfect choice.

Love the idea of the other one looking round as if to say 'What have I done now????' Haha, her hands should be facing upwards with a 'what do I do now?' gesture!

Great floor and wallpaper, too. Rooms aren't always easy to depict but this one works.

Another great page!

Well, aren't you clever. Your use of magazine images spoke loudly, but the wallpaper and clothing colors were absolutely fabulous. I really enjoyed this one and there are days I feel exactly the same way, even AFTER coffee! Thanks for sharing these with us using Eileen's theme at Art Journal Journey, dear friend. Bleubeard sends his love but Squiggles is playing Mr. Aloof.

A super variety of treats to go with the coffee. The reclining girl looks looks like she enjoyed her coffee but the other one looks like she cannot believe what she is seeing. Its a fabulous page Neet and thank you for linking this with Eileen's Art Journal Journey theme.

No, I don't think she wants to engage with anyone ever - coffee or no coffee! Looks like a whole table full of goodies she probably doesn't want to share either... I love the subtle shading in and out of the wallpaper, faded in the sunlight. Very cool page.

Sorry it took my so long to stop by but I have been down and out with something-a virus or a shot reaction. No one seems to share the same opinion. But I wanted to say I just love this. You nailed that quote. Those ladies do have some attitude. Thanks for adding to our green challenge at Art Journal Journey. Hugs-Erika
