Up this morning feeling we had lots of time to get things ready and suddenly it was 10.30 and the main guests had not arrived. A couple of minutes later in came Casey with her children, Cadence, Blaize and Avella. Followed by Cindee with Roman and Blake (two little grandchildren).
Then the others started arriving, Edie, Drucie, Rob, Becky and Jimmy. The food we had prepared began to disappear, the young ones began playing and before we knew it the house was full of all manner of kitchen utensils as the children played. Then grandad (Warren) arrived to help take some of the pressure off with the little ones.
All too soon it was "nap time" and they all made their way home. Was it over - no. Along came Yesinia with her two young children, Joceylyn and Isabella. Isabella is a complete live wire - never still and only just turned one year old. Joceylyn (5) sat down with me and began watercolouring images to make cards. What a beautiful colourist she is, a sense of colour and colouring between the lines! Yes, as I said she is only five.
Mary decided to ring David to see if he would bring Matthew over to play with Joceylin and they were the next to arrive. Before we knew it the second party had begun and we had Kim and Robert join us along with Becky and Rob and then Tim and Drucie. A Mexican takeaway was ordered, Kim went to collect it and we all sat down to a lovely meal.
Not the end of our visitors though as Cathy arrived a little later and she joined in with all the chit chat and finally, when the others had gone, joined us in the craft room.
Somewhere in the midst of all of this I managed to make another card - only the one.
Tomorrow (Sunday) we are off to a workshop again at Gayles so there will be some cards to upload when we return. Maybe one on Monday but then that will be it until our return to the UK.
My, how fast this month has gone - and what a lot of friends we are now leaving behind. No doubt tears when we leave Mary (par for the course with me) but also sadness at leaving everyone else this time.
