Artful Times Challenge 65 ARCHES Folder

Oh heck!  We are not getting many entries on the Artful Times challenge blog - does nobody like us these days?  I wonder if this new topic will give us any more entries - I certainly enjoyed myself doing it although it took a little longer than I really had time for.  Intention was to create one or two diecut arches and decorate them - reality was, I saw something I wanted to 'reinvent' and went for it.  A morning later this was what I produced having used lots of rubber stamps featuring ARCHES:

It started life off as an Amazon book cover - you know the folder you get when you send for a book from them.  Brown corrugated card folded around the book!  Wish I had taken a 'before' picture now.

Anyway, I first of all took some of the outer covering off revealing the corrugation (is that a word?) underneath.  Painted it black and left it to dry.  Put some gold embossing powder on the corrugated bits and then sat and wondered what to do.

Original intention went out of the window and I got my BLACK BOX out with all my spooky stuff in. Aha, a chance to use those stamps.  Result - what you see before you, lots of arches in the images and then some skulls to break it up a bit.

The back got treated to these two images - and one of the diecuts

Here is the inside with the bottom flap still up.  I used some paper I had to decorate inside the folder and this time I used two of my diecut arches.

When the flap comes down this is what you see - the two side bits lift back

I am going to use this to keep my spare images and things in that certainly come out on Halloween but do come out on other occasions too.  Now I have to think about what I will put, if anything on the striped bit - and maybe on those two doors.  Watch this space....
