WOYWW 685

Well, what a scorcher it has been.  I do hope that you all managed to stay in the shade, or indoors, just as you were told by the various media.  I think it was last year I suffered terribly with the heat and so we bought, yet another,  portable cold air type thing.  This one is near perfect!  It really makes the difference between a good night and a bad night's sleep.  Useful during the day too when the temperatures reach unusually high numbers although it struggled against the high temperatures on Monday and Tuesday.  I do hope that you peeps down south coped, as I understand our heat up north was somewhat less than yours.  The one time I did not grumble about the difference twixt north and south.

It's a Probreeze and is just short of £200 but what price do you put on sleepless nights?  It really works - sometimes I woke in the night and it was like being in Siberia.  That's if I  forgot to put the timer on it.

I am sorry if I did not get around to you last week, we were away and there was no internet connection.  Now that might sound like bliss to some but I needed to keep a check on something and the other half is lost without his computer (needs to keep up with the news in various papers and politics of course).  Guess we both felt it - a big chunk out of our daily contact with friends and the world in general.

I did promise some Thrinchies for you this week, some of you may have seen the first four on FB but here are some others as well: - first we have Spring, Wings, Circles, Pattern

The next four - Butterflies, Feather, Poppies, Vintage

(anyone remember dip pens and Quink Ink?)

I'll leave it there for this week, more to follow

It's certainly a busy time at the moment.  I have 31 of these Thrinchies to make in total and I am GD at Art Journal Journey next month so need to get some pages done in advance.  Haven't had time until now with sorting my friend's craft stuff out and preparing for the class the other week, thank goodness most of that is behind me now.  This is my desk at the moment - stuff just plonked down from the holiday:

A cream tea box which I used to carry most of the bits in.  You can see the Thrinchie list, a sneak peek at a page in my small journal, a dvd case with bits in, some blank thrinchies, ink pad, my watercolour crayons and brushes - oh and some scissors for fussy cutting and a glue pot.

And so now it's time to put this one to bed, see you in the morning at WOYWW headquarters for our weekly snoop.  Take care, stay safe and well.
