Lovely weather again up north, not the heat of down south but lovely sunshine and a fair bit of breeze. Monday we went to Morecambe and fancied a ride along the prom to the Lifeboat Station with me on my new scooter and hubby walking alongside. About half way along he was ready to turn back as the wind was so strong so I did a couple of yards more and tuned back. It really was a bit on the wufty side. Then I noticed people walking towards us were quite well wrapped up with jackets buttoned or zipped up to the neck and a cap of some kind on. Not a day for the sands or for going out onto the stone jetty.
So we made our way inland, did a bit of shopping and went home.
Tuesday saw us meeting up with friends and having a spot of lunch before heading back to ours for tea and cake. We had made an 8 oz all-in sponge at weekend and I put them into four small cake tins and iced and butter creamed each one differently (well three of them, the fourth went in the freezer). One was lemon, one coffee and the other just jam and buttercream. Please do help yourself to a small slice of each. They went down well with John but Ann is gf and so I had to buy her a small carrot cake. I only cut small pieces so John and Chas could sample them all.
I always leave the base paper on
This is my desk - Ann and I have a challenge running between the pair of us and here is my desk followed by my two pages in the album started with Jo Rice a while ago.
Now to head over to Sarah's Craft Shed where you can link in with all the other members to see what they are doing. Over we go, quickly come with me.

the weather has been much nicer here so far this week, but it is about to change again and go back up to 29/30 for the rest of this week and next.... Glad you got to try out your new scooter even if not the full trip you planned in Morecambe . the cakes look lovely, thanks for sharing! Happy WOYWW and happy crafting. Helen #2
You are so lucky it has been so hot here though cooler yesterday. It is so nice to have a friend to share your crafting with. Pleased you had a nice day out too, the cakes look scrummy. Have a good woyww, Angela x7x
Hooray for bowling along the seafront on your new wheels, sounds like the win was blowing in your hair too! It has been really windy down here as well, G and I looked very sand blasted after one walk last week! Lovely to see the art challenge results, I do like those seed head stamps, useful for so much. Thanks for the cake as well, I’d find it hard to choose!
Hugs LLJ 5 xx
The cake was yummy so thanks for sharing. Pleased to hear your getting out on your new wheels. Hope you can keep cool in the next heatwave...coming soon.

They say you'll be needing your sun cream if you're going out as of today! More opportunity for you to grab your scooter and head out to the countryside. I'm looking forward to spending time just chilling and reading in the garden if it's going to be as warm as they say. Gorgeous looking cakes. I'd certainly be unrestrained with them given half a chance lol. Been tempted to make a coffee and walnut cake recently and your photo is making that desire stronger lol. Beautiful stamped designs as always, so polished and elegant. Have a fabulous week! P xxxxxxxxx
It’s me again…I print the words on fabric using bond a web.

The cakes look scrummy! One thing to be aware of when you are out and about on your scooter. Your knees and lower legs can get very cold! On the other extreme beware of sunburn on your arms! I love being out on my scooter, we went to Pickering yesterday, lovely day out! Hugs Angela #9
Sounds like a very, very good day and with treats. Hot dog. Life is yummy.
Super album pages, cakes look good too. Can you believe I have NEVER baked a cake in my life! Glad you've had some good weather "up north" I took full advantage of our cooler temps this past week and am now hunkering down for the 3rd heatwave! Hugs BJ#1
Since you asked about the "Domestic Science" or Cookery classes in school. We made cup cakes or the like but never a single cake tin cake and as soon as I could drop this subject I did. Absolutely loath any type of cooking would much rather sew as needlework was my best subject, defo carried on with that one to O-level and it was my best mark too. I made the box type cup cakes with my son when he was little but that's all. Hugs BJ#1
Hey Neet. Skelly will stay out year-round. Come Christmas he might get a little Santa hat.
Glad your weather has stayed cooler, but too bad you had that wind. Your little cakes came out great. They look pretty and I bet they tasted delicious. Did you like using your scooter? Hope your week is continuing to be good. hugs-Erika
Hello Neet, I'm delighted to hear you are getting out and about on your new scooter. Alan loved scooting about on his though I sometimes had trouble keeping up with him. He forgot I was on foot! It's years since we visited Morecambe. Your pages are lovely and the cakes look scrumptious. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #12
Gosh, I am feeling like a scooter might be in my future LOL! Feeling quite weak and wobbly for sure. And the heat does NOT help at all. I love your samples, such pretty pretty images and delicate colouring. You asked about the gold bit on the ICAD? It's some of that waffle-y packaging, swiped with embossing ink and embossed in gold. Just using up rubbish :)
Stay cool on this late, HOT WOYWW

Glad to hear you are enjoying your holiday, and friends.
I have never heard of an all-in-sponge before - must go look it up. We have GF folk in the house, and can obtain a very fine gf flour mix here, so should be able to sort something out one day.
Your desk looks delightfully, gently 'busy', suitable for holidays. and the images in the journal are beautiful
Blessings
Maxine
Hope the heat hasn't hit too hard this weekend Neet. Scrummy cake. Just making quick visits. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.
