Morning everyone, is the weather taking up or not where you are. Yesterday was lovely, especially in the afternoon but I was stuck doing medical things in the morning. Had an echo in the morning, with a man! Never had a male do it before. He was lovely, obviously foreign and he introduced himself as Pedro. I asked where he came from and he said Portugal so I had a smile inside for Pedro from Portugal. Dashed home and off to podiatry but then was not in a good way with hip pain so didn't feel like going out, hopefully this afternoon as I have yet to christen my scooter.
Hubby was going to pay for me to go private for the new hip operation so now he has no need to. The hip was going to make a big difference to his life as much as mine, We don't walk as much as we used to as I cannot manage the same so he decided he would buy me a scooter. Woop Woop!! Spend some money that way instead of the op and cheer me up too. [The hat last week was in readiness for my scooting down the Prom. The ear rings (?) so I look "the part".] My scooter is just a little one that goes at 4 mph so he can walk alongside and we can resume our walks. That's the reason for being in Warrington last week.
I tried a few scooters, it was obvious straight away to me which I liked and didn't like. Being so tall was a factor I had examined in my research over the last week or so on the internet. He wanted good suspension so my body would not be jolted about and eventually we decided on one. Oh, and it has blue trims - sorry Helen, for Everton (my son's and friend Ann's team) not Liverpool or United. Any ideas for a name for it? Here it is - charging in the kitchen:
Not done much crafting but I do like the needle-felting (should I call it dumfing Jo/Annie?) and I bought two books on mushrooms, both second hand, one in immaculate condition and the other just a bit stained on the edge of the cover.
The Thomas Laessore one cost me £3.34 and the Roger Phillips one £3.44 (both used but in good condition)- my felt pad (inc surprise of three needles and wooden holder) £4.21 - a bit cheaper than paper crafting tools and books. I've been practising my Fly Agaric's as you can see at the side of my new pad.
My little table looks like this
I'm making a card and so once again turned to my Lavinia stamps
Here it is, not quite finished as yet
I had to put 'Happy Birthday' on and one or two more bits but I forgot to take a photo when it was finished, as per usual. Then it had to be mounted and put on a card base - then it went in an envelope and was sent off. Another birthday card I made got sent off without even being photographed in its almost finished stage - I really am hopeless at remembering. Ah well, maybe better next week, in the meantime I'll just pop over to see what is happening at Sarah's Craft Shed and its links..

I'm behind on blogs so I don't know if I missed it. Do you still need the operation to walk or is the need for it gone and now just the ride is needed?
I do the same, research online. So easy to do these days. Cheers, Ivy.
I hope you manage well with your scooter- i will forgive you the colour (I do like blue, just not on my football team!) as it willmake a lot of difference to your mobility. the card (even if you forgot to snap the finished version- we all do it!) is fabulous. Happy WOYWW Helen #1
What a score on those books. Fab colours and great references for shrooms! Curious about the scooter brand - I'm tall too and the way my condition seems to be progressing what my friend calls a "bitty buggy" might be in my future too. Great card! Knitting day for me -
Happy WOYWW!

The scooter looks really useful and you'll be able to get out and about more now. Good choice of fungi books too. Love the Lavinia stencil I must get mine out again soon when not distracted by the felting buig Lol! WOYWW hugs, Angela x7x
Well good on you for pushing through all the negatives and showing us what you can do and will do. You are a star Neet 🤩. How about Dolly trolley. She needs some accessories thinking haha
Take care, Lynn 😘xx 10
Ooooh, I like your new wheels, hope it gives you many years’ good service! The name that sprung to my (weird) mind was Penelope, after Penelope Pitstop in the Wacky Races!! I love the fact that you’re enjoying the felting so much, is it therapeutic stabbing with the needle? Gorgeous card too and you’re not on your own in forgetting to photograph the finished item before it gets sent off, I do that all the time!

My scooter made a tremendous difference in my life. Going over some pavements can be a bit bumpy, and sometimes there is a problem trying to find a place to cross the road because you need a dropped pavement. Mine has difficulty going where my husband walks, but where we are at the moment, we are next to a canal with a tarmac pavement. So lovely to be out in the fresh air! Hugs Angela #11
Brilliant! Love your scooter and wonderful that it means both of you can continue with your outings together. Sounds like the Warrington trip was well worth it. You're obviously enjoying the needle felting with the mushrooms and are inspired to try some other varieties. Looking forward to seeing the results. And you remember everyone's birthdays and to send them a card which is way more important than allocating memory to photographing them first :) xxxxxxxx
I'm loving your new wheels...what adventures you will have on that. I hope you will enjoy your dumfing fun....I don't have a lot of time for it at the mo but I will get back to it one day.
Hugs,

I hope you have many happy walks (drives?) with your scooter. Your fly agarics looked interesting and your card is lovely, especially with the dragon!
Happy WOYWW

Wow your scooter looks fab. I hope it does the job for you so you can enjoy being out and about. Well done on the needle felting. I've never made a shroom. x x Jo 🌈
Hi Neet, I knew someone would ask about that fabric. I believe it's Linen but quite a thick fabric and takes the felt really well but it's a piece that was given to me at some time so can't be absolutely sure what it is. I have so much fabric in boxes that I've collected or been given. I tried doing some on an artificial felt probably Polyester but it didn't like the needle and I ended up with a hole so try to keep away from it. I am determined not to give up on the pictures though I prefer the sculptures. Look forward to seeing some of your results too. Happy crafting Angela xXx
Your scooter matches the colour of my car Neet - very nice. Some great mushrooms there, enjoy the books and the play. Stay safe and happy belated WOYWW. Sarah
The scooter looks like a fun new ride Neet. I would think it would be better than the recovery from a hip operation. and I like that color. I would suggest Little Blue for a name, although it's not very creative since it's what Dory is called in the film Finding Nemo. I hope you have fun with your ride. hugs-Erika
Hello Neet, your scooter looks great and I'm sure you will get a lot of pleasure going on your 'walks' with your husband. Alan loved getting out and about with his. Agaric mushrooms are so pretty and always remind me of Enid Blyton's Magic Faraway Tree. Have a lovely weekend. Elizabeth x #3
