WOYWW 803

I really do not know where this last week has gone - it's gone faster than other weeks and I had no idea it was Tuesday when I woke up yesterday.  Consequently I had nothing really to show you on here, especially after last week when I seemed to have lots.

I've been busy making ribbon bows.  I tried a couple of You Tube sessions and then remembered the fork one which I found the best but then I also remembered my old way of making two loops and tying them together - voila

I'm quite chuffed with them

although they did give me cramp in my fingers several times.  Didn't think I had chubby fingers but i needed them to be more slender.  The witchy, tin has my butterflies in, the bee tin - bees - and the other one has small numbers - all ready for putting on cards or in my journal.

I was working on some backgrounds for two Halloween cards.  I'd forgotten how difficult they were to get all the colours into such a small space and yet have a nice yellow centre.  I made two of these cards earlier on but now need to send two to people who celebrate Halloween.  So for all you WOYWW'ers out there - this is my desk (the small table I work on mostly

I'm struggling to get all the colours on the card but I did it twice before so don't understand what my problem is.  That's Wilted Violet on the desk - the other colours are behind me on the worktop

Guess this morning I will be trying to get them to look right so I can begin the fun of stamping images but first these want blending much better - hope I haven't to start all over again.

I did make two birthday cards that had to be off this past week but i have searched myk computer and I must not have taken scans of them but I did scan a bookmark I made for a swap (Ancient or Modern) - but forgot the card that I made and sent to the other person!!

Ah well, off to Sarahs Craft Shed

I'm loving those background colors Neet. You're so good at getting dark shades. And I really love that ancient bookmark. Ancient Egypt is always a fun theme to play around with and your results look amazing. I hope you're having a good week. hugs-Erika

Looks like a great background for your halloween cards, can't wait to see the final results. Agreed, stamping is the fun part!!! I recall seeing a video for tying bows using chopsticks taped to a table but that was for much larger ribbon lol. Those small ones look quite fiddly! Glad you've got the patience :) xx

There’s loads to see on your desk this week! I adore that Egyptian tag, it reminds me of those Alphonse Mucha posters from the Belle Epoque and you remembered to scan it which is more than I did for my cards this week! The little bows are brilliant, I tried the fork technique once, let’s just say it wasn’t a success, the air was blue with cussing, lol! Love the witchy tin as well and the violet ink pad, glorious.

I know there is a trick to blending, but other than starting off the paper and bringing it on IDK. I wonder if using something like Versamark or some other sort of "clear" ink over the joins might smooth it a bit? Whatever, the colours are lush - is it one of those rotating when open ones? Do share them when they've been sent... :D
Knitting again…
Happy WOYWW.

I absolutely love the Egyptian card Neet - it's gorgeous. I don't have a good way of making a bow, mine are always so messy and very unprofessional, which is probably why I often avoid using them! I ought to look up a foolproof method on Youtube. The Halloween backgrounds are fab, so vibrant - I'll enjoy seeing what you do with them.
Have a good week,
Hugs, Diana xx #12

Hi there, making a concerted effort to get round EVERYONE today after my busy conference week last week. Great ribbon bows, I got a bow maker which is a glorified fork type thing really! Yours are brill. Gorgeous backgrounds, love the colours you did a great job there. Super book mark.

LOVE the bookmark, Neet! And I love the tins as well, I assumed you decorated the lids yourself? I just bought a couple of tins I am going to decorate as well for upcoming projects. Have a great week, Lindart #16
