WOYWW 775

Another Wednesday morning when this is out for you all to see but in truth done yesterday on a very very wet afternoon.  In fact I got soaked going just from the car to the clinic Tuesday morning.  It rained so hard when we were coming out and it hasn't stopped since.  I really think we are all going to end up with webbed feet!

Well, nothing much to show you but good news on the knee front.  It is doing so well that next week I will be ditching all this padding and be reduced to a dressing and a 'toe to thigh' stocking.  That will make bending so much better as at the moment, although I can bend my knee, it is restricted because of all the bandaging (first gauze, then two layers of foam on the cut area, then a pad before a stocking, a cotton wool full length bandage, another bandage and then a full length stockinette stocking type thing). All this behind my knee only lets it bend so far but I am walking much better and bending my knee now as I walk.

On Saturday I had signed up for a workshop on the internet and managed to do one of the techniques, not very successfully, but at least I did it so it was a real sense of achievement.  Next day I did another one.  Oh dear, really not very good.  Maybe another week when I can sit properly I will manage.  Anyway, here they are - the bluebell one is a first and second generation and the one I did in the workshop.  The second generation I did a bit of a sketch around the shapes with a black liner.  The other one, done on Sunday, I think my watercolour paper is too thick and the embossing does not show up enough.  Others didn't have the problem, and some lovely work was produced, maybe I should get some decent paper.  I need to try the other two techniques, and redo these, maybe I will have more success.

See, you can't see the embossed flowers on the yellow ones.  The first blue one is the second generation, the last one is a first stamping and then overstamped with black ink.

Well, that's it for this week, maybe I will have more to show as time goes on.  In the meantime enjoy snooping around the WOYWW desks, hopefully more interesting than mine which I am sharing below.

On the left is my box with my most used floral stamps from Lavinia in, then a background which I did in readiness for some stamping and my printed list of Lavinia stamps which I have on a database.  That's my cleaning cloth on top of the list.  Behind are some Elements ink pads, my tin which contains some tiny stamped images, an empty Memento reinker a lid with some brads in and my lovely coaster gifted by dear  Jo.  Told you, nothing interesting here this week but next week I have some new stamps arriving, not many, just four or five.  I need to stamp out the stamps I have bought whilst being incapacitated - maybe another week I can show them to you - and get using them!

Agreed it was a bloomin' wet and windy (oh and cold) day yesterday. Like you, I got soaked to the skin on a short excursion outdoors. Great to hear that your knee is much improved and that with reduced padding, you'll soon gain more flexibility in it. Looks like you had a fun, creative time with the online class and as they say, all failure is learning (and I'm not saying I think you failed, those cards look brilliant but you say you feel you haven't quite mastered the technique yet). The anticipation of new stamps arriving is always exciting, and I'm sure you will be able to craft with them soon. Sending hugs, P xxxxxxx

I always begin every class with such high hopes, but I am far too easily distracted by my own things to properly follow thru. Maybe I have a bit of ADD (well, Dear son probably got it from someplace LOL!) cause I am either flighty or obsessed in equal measure! I love your samples and hope to see more soon. Glad to hear your knee is better.
Happy WOYWW!

I’m so glad your knee is improving, Neet. That’s the best news. We’ll all be waddling with webbed feet soon with all this rain!
Your bluebells are beautiful; it’s so good to see you paper crafting again.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Rain. Rain amd more rain. It is really getting every one down. Still it is a tad warmer (apparently March was warmest on record but I would dispute that) and I did manage to dry sheets on the line on Monday. Getting there. As are you it seems. So glad you are getting more mobility, whether that's getting better or just less packing! Must have been so frustrating for you, such a long re-hab from one 'accident'. I like what you've done but don't know whether it worked or not!! I'm sure those pieces are usable. I don't think I need to list my Lavinia stuff but it is now up to 3 A4 plastic boxes of Lavinia/silhouette stamps and lavinia 'extras' (well that's what it says on the label). So much to do, so little time!! Have a great week, love n hugs Cindyxx #10

That's great news about the knee Neet. You must be thrilled. I like all of your art pieces today. Isn't it funny how somethings look great in person but photograph horribly? I also find that sometimes I hate how a page looks in person but it photographs great. Anyhow, I like all 4 pieces, and it's good your back making some art again. Hope the healing continues and the rain stops so you get some sunshine. hugs-Erika

Hi Neet, we have been lucky in Lincolnshire up to now as they have looked after the water well or we'd be under the sea by now though there have been some areas having problem and the idiots are trying to build on flood plains which seems rather stupid. Pleased to hear the knee is improving. Even if you weren't completely satisfied with the results I'm sure you enjoyed it. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs Angela x7x

Hi Neet, glad to hear the knee is improving and that the dressing is being reduced. Photographs don’t always show our work to the best advantage, but yours are very pretty. Even if you feel it’s not entirely been successful at least you were able to craft. Would you believe I haven’t yet used the Lavinia stamps I bought when we met there! Happy WOYWW. Angela #4

Lovely art, even if it didn't turn out as you wanted it to. And the news about your knee is FABULOUS! So happy for you! Hugs, Valerie

Gosh, that's an awful lot of dressings but I'm glad your on the mend. The class looks interesting if the results are anything to go by. If it rains much more here I'll be seriously thinking of building an ark! Take care. Elizabeth x #14

Loving the background you made with a view to stamping. As you may know I'm not a stamper at heart but with my new love of watercolour for making a background to stamp on could be a game changer for me. Thanks for sharing. Love your internet workshop pieces too. Hugs BJ#6
