WOYWW 748

We are now into October, a month full of rich colours as the leaves turn and fall to the ground.  Oh heck - that means raking leaves up and boy oh boy do we have a lot in our gardens.  I wish we could put giant hairnets on all our trees so that the leaves would not be there for poor Chas to rake up.  Apart from that I love October and the colours it conjures up.

I did promise you that I would show you what I had been making but the three birthday cards for members of our club are all the same and actually copies of what I have done previously.  I just hadn't time to think up anything different.

Good job nobody from the club ever comes on my blog - I can get away with showing you the cards quite easily.

I also said I would show you my blog pages once they had been published, so, to save you going back to the pages here they are

1st October and below the 3rd

This last one is taken from a design by Jo Rice, Head of the Design Team at Lavinia.  Jo did give me permission to use her original design.  I tweaked it a little bit.  More pages next week as we catch up.

Now here is my desk, obviously making a journal page for Thursday when Wendy and I challenge one another to make something with a snarky comment from Tim Holtz' book and use Dylusion figures.  Now you can see how I have been using the bags of heads, legs and bodies these past weeks.

That's last weeks Thursday journal page stood at the back, this one I am doing here is in my square journal, or will be when I stick it in.

That is it for this week folks so head on over to Ms Julia at WOYWW and see what everyone has in store for you.  See you next week hopefully.

Once I come up with a design, I make all my swap items the same. I am not one to reinvent the wheel with each card, ATC, etc. Maybe a few deskers will be interested in visiting AJJ this month since you're hosting. No number yet. Julia must be sleeping in.

You have been busy Neet, and your desk looks intriguing at the moment - I look froward to the completed page.

I generally try to make several cards with one design and then keep some for those just in case moments and they are good to look back at for those times when you need the inspiration which is quite often lol! The journal pages look like fun too. Hope to see them completed. Have a lovely week and a happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x1x

I agree, but it made me snigger top think about giant hair nets for trees! Our pink Hawthorn is already naked...every leaf waiting on our small lawn. Because the weather continues to be good though, I expect this year that they'll be picked up when I mow the grass because the Final Cut has definitely not occurred! I love the birthday cards design, i don't think any recipient of that beautiful owl card would have any problem knowing that it was a repeated design, that's what shop bought cards are, after all!

Love the cards, super cute. You do so well keeping up with art journal pages - wish I were the same! I will check you out on AJJ :)

Happy desk-hop day!

Fabulous cards!!! That Owl design still makes me laugh. So cute. Great to see your October pages, looking forward to seeing the others in the days/weeks to come. Agreed, Autumn and October are stunning for colours and yes, it's always a shame that trees have to shed their leaves. I have a wisteria which is a nightmare to clean up after! P xxx

Those owls made me smile, they make great birthday cards, that’s for sure! I did love the steampunky mice as well, what a fun bit of crafting. The thought of hairnets for trees made me hoot, there probably is something out there on the market that is similar.

I'm with you on the tree hairnets - although not so bad here but our last home was surrounded by giant oaks so you can imagine how gorgeous the leaves were but also how much of a pain! I love your Steampunk themed activity. xx Jo

Looks like you're having some wonderful creative time; those owl cards are so beautiful and your gear pages are perfect for your challenge over at AJJ 😊. I'll order one of those hairnets to catch the leaves, that would be perfect for our front garden as next door has a huge sycamore tree in their garden and the leaves always end up in ours ...lol 🍁. Take care and happy wishes! Hugs, Jo x

You had lots of art this week which is fun to see and see again. I hope your creative juices keep flowing, but if you have to makes copies, like those fun owl cards, that's ok too. I'm sure it will be great no matter what. hugs-Erika

WE used to have tons of leaves as well, until the Hydro electric people chopped down two massive Maple trees a few years ago, now it's manageable! So I empathise. Your cards are very cute, I don't blame you for making them again! I love the little mice holding up all the steampunk things! I have two of those snarky remarks books. I find them hard to use! I wouldn't use them on cards because they can be so mean, but they work in my journals at times! I love to see all the cut-outs of people on your desk! I recognise the Dylusions people! Have a great week, Lindart #19
