WOYWW 739

These days are coming just a wee bit too fast for me.  I've been organising some surprises for Chas for his upcoming 'zero birthday' and that has taken a lot of time up.  But boy have I enjoyed myself.  It's all secret for the time being and I. am as excited as I get at Christmas time.

My desk is in a state of being cleared up.  I need to get it back to some form of normality, if we ever have a normal desk.  Guess I mean 'tidy'.  Because next week is going to be a busy one with days out now and then I needed to get my journal done for a couple of weeks - not the pages that are open for you to see on my table - those are old ones.  Wouldn't be fair on the challenges I do to show what's coming up.

Here is my desk:

Those clear caddies come in two sizes and they are so useful.  It's surprising what you can get in them.  The top one, under the lid that has my Inktense Pencils in a blue holder, has 18 full sized ink pads inside it.  Six Versafine Claire and the rest are Elements from Lavinia.  You can see my Lavinia brushes between the two caddies.  At the back are all the punches that have been there for weeks now, they are waiting to be packed up in my case for my next class on the 12th.  If I move them I will not remember them all.

The white cream tea box just has some cardstock in and the red book at the far end contains all my passwords, written in cryptic form so if anyone finds iat they can't decipher what they are.

My table, that I have been working on has my Journal, Tim Holtz Snarky Comment book and what are left over of my Promarkers.  Here it is:

Some old journal pages.  My friend Wendy and I have a challenge between us.  We have a Snarky Comment to work to and whatever the challenge is at Art Journal Journey.  This month is not so easy to marry the two together but I'll try.  Sometimes it is not so obvious and so I write a little story to accompany.  My friend Wendy often says I don't write a story - I write a book!  I can't help it, I just get carried away.

Anyway, on the desk is the journal showing two old pages, my Promarker Box, some black markers for my lettering and the protective sleeve from a journal which I used to protect pages when painting others.  The Promarker Box is two old Felix boxes stuck together and covered in paper, something I used to do a lot of.

Well, that is it for today.  See you over at Julia's for the weekly meeting of the WOYWW'ers.  Join in if you want, right here.  You would be most welcome.

Just realised, I posted three birthday cards this morning and never took either a photo or scanned them.  Ah well, my loss.

those storage caddies do look very useful to take stuff around with you...
I hope the birthday surprises are appreciated and Chas has fun. I'm assuming he doesn't read this blog or that would be cover blown. Happy WOYWW helen #2

Love seeing organization stuff and getting ideas that might work for me too. All of my marker like things are in different boxes and as a result I tend to forget about some. If I had a divided box like that with them all in one but on different tiers it could be very useful. I have a smaller one, similar in design, full of knit-stitch-markers making beady things and love it. Shame I was down to So'Ham for a Dr. appt, stopped at Hobby Craft and didn't think to look for these at the time. Ah well...next year... :D Love the journal page, always enjoy those cute peoples!
Happy WOYWW!

Hi Neet, it looks as though you've been busy which makes me feel guilty as I haven't done very much at all. I really need to check the journal that I started working in as I don't think I've opened it since June but we were busy sorting stuff for my mum so maybe I'll get back to it. The caddies look useful, I think I have an obsession for boxes Lol! Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs Angela x8x

Sounds like there's been a lot of prepping done to free you up for the coming fun. Hope you'll share the surprises you've planned for Chas (after the event of course). Whatever you are doing, have a fantastic time. P xxxxxx

Happy Big Birthday to Chas!! Hope he has a good time, I love that you’re so excited about what you’ve got planned, we’re like that in our house too, lol!! Those little boxes hold way more than their size says they should! Are you sure they’re not Tardis like and bigger on the inside than the out?!

Is ma impressed that 18 full size ink pas sit in that caddy, it really doesn't look big enough and they aren't easy to transport unless they're 'in tight' are they. Great find. I rushed to buy the snarky comments and don't use them, feel they are too snarky for cards and of course, I don't journal. I've cut them up and use the individual words and letters in odd places! I'm excited to hear about Chas's birthday when it comes!

Hi Neet
Nice to see you’re enjoying being busy.
I’ve had those caddies for some years and keep sewing threads and other sewing related bits and pieces in them. They’re great aren’t they.
Have a good week
Lynn xx

You sound very well organised, love the caddie but I have too many Felix boxes to justify buying any . . . do you think that Felix manufacturers sourced out what we needed before producing such useful boxes? lol
Love the thinking behind the journal challenge
Have a creative week

Those caddies look very useful - I've been looking for something with lift outdrawers to try and contain my huge ribbon and trim selection as I am not happy with where it is at the mo. (Another thing I have too much of). I love the snarky comments they are so funny. You must be feeling better if you have been getting so much done? I do hope so. Every day goes too fast for me, never enough hours in the day. I need to do every day twice, once to do the things I ought to do, then again to do the things I want to do. It's a constant battle which wins!! Have a lovely week, love n hugs Cindyxx #7

Ah Happy Birthday Chas - have a good one! It sounds like you have some fun things planned Neet. Your snarky pages look like a great idea to me. I could print off a few pages so that hubby could rip one off and hand it to me every time he made a snarky comment - maybe that's not the idea though! Ben is 9 next month Neet - where have those years gone? xx Jo

I do love clear containers, where can see at a glance what’s in them, things get lost if can’t see them easily. HappyBirthday to Chas - when it arrives! Happy WOYWW Angela #9

I meant to stop by earlier today, but life got in the way. I didn't play this week because I am hosting my own link party and didn't want to confuse anyone. See you Thursday for sure.
