WOYWW 725

Why is it that Wednesdays come around so quickly.  No sooner have I had one Wednesday than I am having another.  A bit like chocolates!  I only compare it to chocolate because Wednesday's are a day to enjoy.  Why you ask?  Because we get to see one another's desks by joining in with Ms Julia and her merry band of crafters who bare their desks for all to see.  It's WOYWW day!  Hip Hip Hooray!

Now what do I have for you today?  A desk that was like this on Monday and remains like this until the end of today when I return from an overnight trip to Cheltenham to see my bil.  As you can see I have been playing about with the Gelli Plate yet again.  Not too many prints from the plates as I decided I did not want too many hanging about waiting for decoration to turn them into finished cards or whatever.

You will see, however, that I have also used my stencils to make pages in my journal for decoration at a later date.  Well, why waste perfectly good ink and wash it down the sink?  I do hope that last week I inspired some of you to get out your Gelli plates and give them a try with ink as it seemed one or two of you were put off, like me, with the washing up and mess of using acrylic paint.  This is so much easier and cleaner.

I did turn a couple into cards though

I haven't got the hang of doing even shading as can be seen in the first one.  I did some spatters of water to try to draw the eye away but it didn't work.  However, I am sure if I stamp some words randomly over the top it will make all the difference.  I refuse to throw it away.  The last one looks better and it is meant to be darker in the actual corners.

Well, that is it for another week.  Must get on with some workshop prep and my ATC's as I don't like the ideas I had so they have ended up as card toppers.  See you all next week.

By my eyes, I can't see that you haven't got the shading down because it looks great to me!

Fun to see desks.

When hubby gets up from his desk, I often take black and white photos of things left there. Dice, pencils, books. I just love it!

Happy Crafting and Happy Wednesday. They sure do come back around quickly!

Cheers & Boogie Boogie, Ivy.

Oh Neet - the weeks speed by faster and faster all the time - I think it may just have something to do with age... I have to remind myself that not everyone has the privilege of growing older!
Your gelli plate prints look fun - I am coming up to a quieter period for cards, both for my orders and the family, so I will have more time to 'play'

Lovely idea, to just pre-make backgrounds in an art journal. Honestly, it might be the thing to nudge me back in that direction, But I am not going to stress about it. I know myself well enough that I know I will circle around again. And after seeing all your lovely creations I can hear my gel plate calling to me.... LOL!
Happy WOYWW (back to being on time!)

Good to see you're still having fun with Gelli plates. The hare staring up at the moon is beautifully done. Have a fabulous week and let's hope Wednesday doesn't come around as quickly next time :D xx

I'm trying to get on with the ATCs but you reminded me that it's club day on Saturday so better get ready for that too. I have used inks and paint on my gel plates and don't mind either but you do get quite a different finish. Tracy makes it all look so easy but she has developed her style and technique over quite a long time. Have a lovely creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x8x

I love those cards and think you’re being a bit harsh on yourself regarding the shading, I think you’ve done a great job!! I caught a YouTube video by Jo Rice about the Bokeh effect for backgrounds and found myself looking at Distress Oxides…blimey, that’s a slippery slope eh? I did really love what she did though! Was that what you did at the workshop in Ruthin?

Your prints are gorgeous Neet, and the Lavinia stamps work so well with them. I love your shading, it looks so pretty and I think you are being a tad too hard on yourself!!
Hope you have a lovely week,

Hi Neet
You’re a whizz with the Gelli plate, I’ve got one of the round ones and did a bit a few weeks ago with my textile ladies.
Nothing as good as yours though haha
Take care

I haven't quite got the hang of Gelli plates yet. I've tried a few times, but they just didn't do what they were supposed to. I have a Gelli plate class coming in my Fodder School, so I look forward to that! Your cards are beautiful, I can't see anything wrong with them! Have a great week, Lindart #23

Great cards. I am trying to decide whether to pack my geli plate in the caravan and whether to pack geletos as well as ink. I Am taking my acrylics and watercolours - how much can I pack in before the caravan screams no more 🀣🀣. Happy WOYWW. Angela #16

I love those cards you made Neet. They're very magical. That round gelli plate is much more versatile than I think it would be. I need to get my plate out and play with it I think. Thanks for all your inspiration. Hope your week is going well. hugs-Erika

I hate when you write a comment and then it fails to publish and you have to start over again. Sorry for the complaint. Anyhow here's what I wrote:
