WOYWW 708

Here's hoping everyone had a lovely Christmas.  No mishaps, just lots of fun, family, presents, good food and a lovely warm cosy fuzzy feeling inside.

I think I read that it was a white Christmas as some places (five?) had snow.   That is in the UK as I believe some parts of the USA have had really bad weather with temperatures way way down low.  I just hope you all have been safe and warm.  It's been cold enough at home for me at times and I have been glad of central heating and warm clothing plus lots of good home made soup inside me.

Finally the last cards got sent off and there were far more Christmas cards received than I thought with the threatened postal strike.  I think our posties did a splendid job here as they seemed to call each day.  We don't seem to have one particular one nowadays and there was an assortment of faces, both male and female, dropping things off for us.

My craftroom has hardly been touched and I hate to say it but the dies that were out on my desk are still there.  Mainly because I have nowhere to put the largest one.  Here's the evidence:

You can see them peeking out at the far side of my desk.  Also on it is my pencil case containing my tiny background stamps, then my blog waiting to be done for tomorrow (just have to finish the story off).  The pile of brown paper are bits cut out from some fab wrapping paper.  It was around my Secret Santa gifts from the club and featured the 12 Days of Christmas.  For example the 'ladies dancing' were pigs in frilly tutu's, and the 'lords a leaping' were frogs twirling around.  Someone had started colouring them in but I can finish them off and use them for a layout in one of my journals for another year.  Then you can see the dies and behind those are my orange circle cutters.  A fiver from The Works and better than the one I paid a tenner for and certainly better than the £25 one which broke first use.  (Dare I admit I have had them for years and only just found that they have a lock on the back to stop them moving the size)

Now to see how the other WOYWW'ers have been over Christmas and to wishYOU ALL THE VERY BEST FOR THE NEW YEAR.

You obviously enjoyed Christmas Neet, and didn't need to take refuge in your craft room and mess your desk - looking forward to tomorrows journal story.
Blessings

Good to hear you had an event-free Christmas and were lucky with the post. We've only had one delivery in the last fortnight but in the bigger scheme of things, its not a problem. I've recently been reading how this week is being called "dead week" because there's nothing to do between Xmas and New Year lol. Just plenty of time to indulge in rest and relaxation or catch up on crafts and hobbies. xxxxxxxx

Hi Neet, it's been a mixture of happiness and sadness for us but we've been to see some friends too which has brightened things up a bit. I should think most desk are like yours, a bit quiet. Sending hugs Angela xXx

I’m so glad you had a lovely Christmas Neet, it sounds just right…we haven’t done much but it’s a been a lovely family time, lots of games and maybe a couple of medicinal drams! I love that you saved the wrapping paper which sounds fab, look forward to seeing that featured in the not too distant future!
Wishing you and Chas a happy and healthy 2023!
Much love,

Hope you had a lovely Christmas, Neet - I've heard about the extreme weather in the US as well. We're very lucky really that we don't have to deal with that - although I have heard about the big freeze in the 1960's - I hope that won't repeat! You can definitely find some good stuff at the Works - I often pop in just to check. Recently, I've bought some books there about rock paining - next on my list to try! Wishing you all the best in 2023! xx zsuzsa #7

Glad you enjoyed your Xmas Neet. That 12 days of Christmas wrapping paper sounds ideal for you! I found some recycled and recyclable paper this year but it had my hubby in knots as it resisted sellotape. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year

That sure is a big die, I'd have the same problem, bit like the stencil I got which is too big for the stencil box. What super wrapping paper and love your current journal page. Happy New Year BJ#1

Your desk is so much cleaner than mine. With the holiday I have things all over and I haven't found a lot of time to go in there and do anything. It looks like you've been having fun though Neet. Even if things haven't changed all that much. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and that I'll see some art tomorrow at AJJ, but if not, have a wonderful New Year too. Hugs-Erika
