WOYWW 697

We are creeping nearer and nearer to that 700th edition of WOYWW.  We may have shrunk a little in numbers but it is one of the best ways I know of making friends who really do care about one another.  Why don't you join us and show us your desk - no need to be embarrassed if it is a mess, the messier the better.

My little table today shows what I have been up to.  A workshop with Jo Rice and Lavinia stamps was enjoyed by me and others via the internet on Sunday.  I was not 100% happy with my finished product and so I am in the throes of doing another one.  It will be an MDF piece which will stand on a radiator shelf when completed.  At the moment it is in my new Black Journal (which I have had for years and not used - this is now my first page).

This is my desk

and my counter behind me

This last photo shows how I work when I am doing a workshop.  I have all the things I need (or think I need) set out on the counter behind me and a clear(ish) table to work on in front of me.  Here you can see the MDF board, bottom left, that the card is going to be stuck on when completed.  I just hope my next one is good enough to go on the board - I will show you another time.

It shows how much I enjoyed this workshop as I want to do it again but at my own pace.  Not that Jo went too fast or anything but I can spend more time practising the little things that I want, like getting the blending right.  I am fairly new to Lavinia type stamping and love to see what others can do and I want to do "everything" so with a teacher like Jo it is possible.  I just cannot get enough of the Lavinia workshops at the moment and I watch them on You Tube whenever possible.

We were at the caravan last week and it was a complete wash out.  Talk about rain - and one night the winds were a bit scary, especially as we are surrounded on two sides by woodland.  So I got my calendar finished that was a class at Vicky Stampers with Jo Rice - but more of that another week, there's 12 pages.  In the meantime here are a couple of photos from Sizergh Castle the time before when we were there - see it can be sunny.

that looks a lovely page you are working on Neet - and of course you need to have everything on hand when taking a class!
I know what it can be like in an unstable caravan in the wind - that must have been a wee bit worrying. Beautiful photos from your previous visit

Love how your art from Jos class looks in your black journal. It adds to the mystical feel. I've joined in on quite a few live creative classes too and there's lots of people who just watch the live and then use the replay to follow along at their own pace. I do the same as I can keep rewinding or pausing at the trickier bits. P xx

So pleased you enjpyed the workshop. I have always loved Tracy's stamps and have more of them than I care to admit too though they have been stored away for some time There must be loads of stuff on my blog, using stamps, dies and downloads and the fabric samples I made for her. I think the last time I used them was for a Retiform Easter card. So I look forward to seeing more of your creations too. Sending hugs, Angela x9x

How wonderful that you enjoyed the workshop so much! I really love Lavinia stamps (they remind me of Shaz Silverwolf) and think that your piece is really lovely. I’m very sorry about Debbie, she was seemed a quiet soul but actually was a very sharp feisty lady, goodness I shall miss her.

Some great photos. Love your 1st new page. Outstanding images. It's always disappointing when weather is not bright and sunny when one travels. I don't like to be out in rain or winds. But thankful it's now raining here. Have fun with your new journal pages. Enjoy a good week.

Love your Lavinia creation, reminds me of dearest Shaz and how she tried to get us to do such wonderful backgrounds . . . .
Shame about the weather, we call this wind the 'conker' wind down here, blows the conkers off the trees!!!

Hi Neet,
It's been another crazily busy day for me with the Advent calendars flying out my door as soon as I put them up for sale so my feet have only just stopped for a quick break and time to visit a few of my favourite blogs.
I think I'm still in shock of the news about Debbie...such a lovely lady.
Hugs,

Loving the result of the Lavinia workshop, it looks great on the black journal page. Also like your method for working during a workshop, makes so much sense to have it at hand, especially good if you’re concentrating on what’s being said! I’m sorry the weather let you down last week, it’s a bit hit and Miss now isn’t it, although we’ve had some lovely days in the last week. Getting cold though,😞don’t like that part of it much!

Loving your page. It is scary in the caravan when the wind is that strong. Take care, hugs Angela #16

Oh my Neet! Your page looks amazing!
I remember our first night in our caravan - a neighbour came to tell us that it had been exceptionally windy and that nights like that were rare!
Hopefully the weather will pick up and we can find a sunny Autumn day for our Sizergh visit!
Very sad news abut Debbie.
Take care, hugs, Chrisx #18

I love your art today and how you used the black background. That would work for AJJ too and Elle's challenge if you feel so inspired. And your desk is neat, at least compared to my mess right now. I did a bit of picking up, and it didn't help much. OH well, I think I'm more creative in a bit of a mess, but not a huge mess because it's too distracting. I love seeing your photos from the castle when you visited. hugs-Erika

I have never worked on a black journal but from your glimpse it looks fun. I cannot fathom 700 is mere weeks away. Amazing. Your class art is quite lovely and your tips on organization are fab. How sad I am to have missed the chance for a face-to-face natter at the crop. Oh well, next year... :D
Back to being late, but only slightly.
