WOYWW 645

Back again to a Wednesday, these days ares slipping by so quickly it's going to be the end of October before we know it.  Thank goodness we have WOYWW to look forward to each week and get together with friends from all over the place.

So what have I been up to since we last met?  Remember me saying I had done a workshop with Tracy Evans but I was waiting for a stamp to arrive in order to finish it, well I finished it off

That's all I have to show you.  I have been making Christmas Cards though - now got half a dozen finished and ready.  I won't be disclosing them until nearer the time as I have no idea how many I will be making of another design and who will be getting them/what.

I am at the moment working in my Thursday journal so that, again, is on my desk and nothing else really.  You came to see the desk so here it is

So on the deck (counter) is a blue box which contains some Christmas stuff - berries, cones, ribbons erc - and on top is my Open Spine Journal all complete but I am hoping to put some pictures in it and then show it to you page by page.  The paper with typing on is the list of quotes we have been using for our Thursday journal and net to it is the journal page ready for decorating.  I have coloured it with various autumnal shades of Oxides, Crackling Campfire, Persimmon and Picked Raspberry.  Next to that is my box of Promarkers and on top the pack of flesh tones.  Anything else apart from the black inkpad is rubbish.

You can see I have kept the back wall still as tidy as it was when I first reorganised.  It has proved a good way of storing my inkpads.

That's it for this week.  Hopefully see you next week with more to show you.

That's a great combination of autumn colours Neet - I will have to make a note of them. Well done with the CHristmas cards so far. The only ones I have made as yest are samples so I will have to get a shift on. Love the pages you have made, especially the blues/purples combination. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

I know I should make a start on cards but there is too much stuff between now and then - I will put it off for a bit longer. Love both pages and the stamps look good on both. A small tweak can often make something really different so it’s great seeing both side by side.

Have a great Woyww day

Love the beautiful journal pages you made, the squares in the background are fabulous. And your desk looks so tidy, but I'm trying not to get a bad conscience when I think of mine! Have a wonderful day, take care! Hugs, Valerie

Wow, what gorgeous pages - I love the different colour schemes, they really give each piece a completely different feel. The orange page is singing out to me - I love autumnal colours and that page is so rich, I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
Hope you have a great week,

It's lovely that you did the same lesson twice because you loved it so much - they both look incredible! I remember I did that with Laly's TB taster lesson last year - I couldn't stop creating in grids! I should get back to it again, it was so fun! Have a lovely week, Neet! xx zsuzsa #17

Two beautiful journal pages!
The post has gone up again here in Australia - so I am now rethinking Christmas cards. They will all have to be less that 20g...
Happy WOYWW!
Stay safe and keep well!

Two fabulous journal pages. Can I ask if you taped off the squares before painting? Every time I tape anything off I tear the paper when removing it! Great that you have made a start on your Christmas cards. Happy WOYWW Angela #9

WOW! These are great pages to gaze upon! I hate to choose a favorite, BUT, it would be the second page spread. I think the colors and sections on the squares having more of a light and dark contrast. I love all the stamping across the squares over the edges onto the next square. The page spreads are both so eye appealing though. I made one Christmas card a few months ago and then the mind wandered elsewhere. So easily distracted!

Love both the colour ways on the pages project, so glad that you had such a good time creating them! The Tracey Evans workshops seem to be very successful, another desker enjoys them (can’t remember who now, doh!). Julia and I had a lovely time but it wasn’t long enough, still, we made the most of it, I’m surprised Gordon and Rhys don’t have earache, lol!!

Both of these pages are amazing Neet. I can see why you wanted to make a second one in different colors. And isn't it good when you find the best way to organize a supply? Sometimes it seems to take several tried for me to get there. But I agree, once you find it, it works! I hope your week is going well. Hugs-Erika

I love the two pages you've made, Neet - anything with butterflies gets my vote anyway, and it's fun to do things in different colour schemes for a different look. I got a new butterfly stamp/die set today and this evening I've been colouring butterflies!

Thank you for your visit. I think the kitties are happy to cuddle up together like that because they were together in the womb. They are like two halves of one individual. A lot depends on scent with cats and they probably smell the same to each other - like an extension of themselves! They frequently wash each other - at least, Ruby does most of the work because Lily's a lazy lump, and also the senior one so the junior one has to be more subservient! They have always been together and behave like little twins. They have their spats though, mostly because Ruby is more playful and wants to play with her sister, who doesn't appreciate it (no sense of humour!) and swears at her! I wish you could see them in person - you are one of their greatest fans!

I am glad you liked my latest cards. I was thrilled to be able to produce the results I wanted with the folded down squares - it took me a very long time getting the grid right (Inkscape is a continuous learning curve) but now I've done it, I can make it whatever size I want and it's easy to adjust to the size of the card I want. Thank you for the suggestion about stacking the sentiments - this is a tip I learnt from Jennifer McGuire who uses it to great effect, and I agree with you, it would be great on these cards. I must say I like a bit of dimension!

Love your pages Neet, they turned out great. I especially like the one with the black and white. Your desk looks so under control and I love your storage at the back, very handy. I had my desk up against a wall before I switched rooms but now it's in the middle of the floor so I miss that option for storage but the light is so bad in this room that I need it near the window.
