WOYWW 634

Still busy with my journaling and nothing to show you - not even an atc today.  I have two birthday cards to make so I had better get on with them - just not enough time to make them and show them to you.  It's that I have this deadline for the journaling and I must get on with it.  But woyww has to take place, I can't afford to miss joining in with my friends.

Yesterday I had a friend call to see me/us and we spent the whole afternoon catching up.  She brought me some lovely flowers and lots of crafty goodness.  It was lovely to see her and she was the first visitor we had had at home in simply ages (when did this pandemic start?).

Anyway, you came here to see my desk and not hear me yapping on.  Here is the desk as it got left last night

There's an A4 box with stamps in, them my journal with the page coloured blue - the yellow cloth is what my bff brought me when she came to see me last week - a miracle cleaner for stamps - and it washes clean apparently.  Another journal, my new Texture Fades folder some flowers for a friend and some magazines.

Well, will have to leave it there as I have to go now on my way to the chiropractor and I need to get my hair into some semblance of a style.  Real short and sweet for me this week (woyww not my hair).

Btw: my cousin Ken passed last week.  The stent basically perforated his esophagus just above his tummy causing him excessive pain in his tummy.  He was just one month to the day past his ninety first birthday.  I will miss him, my last touch with the oldies, and my chats with him.

Your desk looks so tidy in comparison to mine. Have fun with your art journal pages, I've been busy making new ones, too! Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

It's fun to see your desk as it is placed in the house. It looks a fab space, and I do love a corner to work in. I lost that arrangement when we moved to Dorset. So sorry to hear your cousin passed. Very sad news. I'm curious - did the stent move over time, or was it put in recently? Hope the chiropractor does a good job for you!

Happy cooler days Desk Hopping!

Sorry to hear of the passing of your cousin. Such sad news. Though its lovely to hear that after all these months you finally were able to meet up with someone. There's glimmers of our old lives coming back, slowly and cautiously. I'm intrigued by your miracle cleaner and chuckling that it stays clean, knowing how unimpressed you were when another rag did the job but stayed filthy with black ink. Looking forward to seeing your journal page. P xx

Oh I’m so sorry to read about your cousin, what a horrible thing to happen to him at such a grand age. Hope your trip to the chiropractor works well for you too. I’m at decision stage about my long lockdown hair, I think it has to be chopped. My fam are very against it! Love to read that you’ve had a visit at home, hurrah, and you’ve still managed crafty stuff too, your desk looks very inviting to me Neet!

I’m sorry to hear about your cousin Ken, it sounds like he was in a lot of pain, poor chap. You’ll miss your chats with him, so I’m sending you hugs. I though you were going to go all pixie cut at the hairdressers when you said you were going to keep it short, lol! Yo’d suit it if you did, you rock chick you! How lovely to have a visitor, honestly it really is important to keep in contact - I miss people so much, haven’t seen my brother for 18 months now though we do call all the time.

So sorry to hear about your cousin - it's always difficult to accept that you'll never going to see or talk to someone ever again - not in this life anyway. But 91 is a very good age - any one of us will be lucky to make it that far! Some lovely goodies on display - I especially like those flowers - they hold a lot of possibilities. I love texture fades but I always forget how to sandwich them - I should really take some notes! Lovely for you to finally have visitors - I think it's probably safe to mingle with people who are as careful as you. Have a lovely week, Neet, and thanks for your visit earlier! xx zsuzsa #16

Sorry to hear about your cousin. I have started to realise that when you get to a certain age you are lucky to still have any family or friends around you. My mum is 93 now and I know she misses her family and friends all the time. We do our best to keep her happy. Always love to see your desk and hope the visit to the Chiropractor went well. Happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x14x

magazines! I think I hoard magazines! I do like to have them 'logged' some how. I just clean my stamps in soapy water.
My cousin passed away (covid)he was already unwell and only 62. He said, when we went to my aunt's (his mum) funeral, Christmas before the first lockdown, that he didn't think he'd last til Easter. At least he lasted longer than his dad, my uncle, who passed away at 34 leaving four small children. We watched the funeral on our telly, as we weren't allowed to go there by then (and saved another drive up to London) Pleased we had the chance to say 'goodbye' though. Just in a different way. Short and sweet!I wish my hair would grow so I could have a proper cut! Honestly, its getting really thin, not like me! Have a great crafty week and of course a Happy WOYWW ((Lyn)) #16

Your desk looks lovely, Neet - I love the way it goes round the corner, and the pretty window above. I am glad you were able to have such a good catch-up with your friend, especially a crafty one! I hope your chiropracter appointment went well, and that you managed to get your hair cut. Mine is down to my waist now and no trouble at all - every now and again I trim the ends myself and it seems to do OK! I'm very sorry to hear about your cousin. It is sad to see the last of the older generation pass. My aunt was the last to go (Mum's sister).

Happy belated WOYWW,

Oh Meet, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin Ken. I'm sure you will miss him. I've had reason to miss the oldies too - both my youngest aunties died recently and one of my young cousins passed just before Christmas. I hope your back has improved and the chiropractor is helping. The flowers are lovely. Have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #22
