WOYWW 631

Another week, another Wednesday, another WOYWW - where is time going?  We will be seeing "C" stuff in the shops before long.  And what about the Boris announcement?  Mixed feelings up and down the country I am sure but I must say I am not happy about all of the decisions he has made.  Well, this is not a political platform so I will get on with showing you my desk - that is not a desk.

Not been at home again, but going home later today, so my desk has been a bed really, or the bare bones of one -  slats - without the mattress.

Last week you saw the big box on my desk that I was just popping stuff in that I wanted to take away with me, well, that is it at the far left.  it normally has my Promarkers in and there is an A4 folder full of stencils, another full of Janet Klein figures and one or two other bits but you can't see anything for the carr-all that I use on the table in the kitchen when away.

Then there is a nappy box (yes, I still have those, bought for crafting not for nappy stuff) which is full of all kinds of crafting things - scissors, duster, brushes, glue, tape, etc.   You can see my little Cuttlebug in front, it never gets used at home so I brought it here.

The next nappy box has all my ink pads in it plus some Brushos/Ken Oliver ones.  It's basically all things that create colour.

In front are my Twinkling H2O's and my watercolour pencils on top.  As well as that there is a cardboard box on the other bed with a lot of cardstock and cutting boards, etc in - just general stuff.  In the kitchen are some stamps, my Promarkers, a couple of dies and my Journals.

Nothing I have done to show you because I haven't done much.  It's been a bit of a non-productive time but I did manage to buy some new stamps yesterday on the internet.  This is a card I made and brought up with me for a friend's birthday.  I don't think she comes on here so it's ok to show you and then I will take my leave and get started on a card for a club member's 80th birthday.

See you next week.

I am nervous about all the relaxing of regulations too Neet and will continue wearing a mask when I do now. Looks like you had plenty to keep you occupied even if you didn't get much done. Love the card - especially the lovely colour! Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #6

Hi Neet, i'm cautious about the new announcements was hoping my Daughter would be aloud back in the country to help my with my MIL fingers crossed she wont have to isolate at the cost of nearly £2,000 in the governments pocket and can isolate at home.
I'm smiling at the nappy boxes and thinking where is mine.. it saw me through all my 3, I know it's somewhere in the house. Love the blue themed card and that stamp. Enjoy your play time with your new ones.

Love your blue garden card Neet. Yes I’m nervous as well. It’s just giving in to business lobbying. I’m staying home more, and won’t be giving up my mask any time soon.
Anyway your travelling craft supplies seem very organised.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Happy WOYWW. I will also be continuing to wear a mask when indoors and close to other people. We do now have colleagues and a few friends coming to our house, but they generally sit away from us by an open window. It is nice to hear other voices in the house again. You definitely pack well when going away! I used to take a small cross stitching project with me when travelling, but rarely actually did any stitching - so now I take my iPad, and can do some digital projects/classes if I need something to fill the time whilst hubby is cycling. We only have 3-day trips planned for this year. Nappy boxes - not seen one for many years. The young mums I know don't seem to use them. Very useful for crafty stash. Ali x #12

I always admire how organised you are - I always seem to have chaos around me. I still have a little cuttlebug, too, but haven't used it in a long time. The card you made is gorgeous! I don't like what Boris has decided either, and people are wanting to do the same here. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie

Gorgeous card. Hope you are enjoying your break. I'm cautious about the lifting of restrictions. I'm going to continue being careful and avoiding crowds or indoor areas and I'll wear a mask. Someone tried to shame me fo wearing a mask a while back which really made me dig in my heels xx

A wonderful card Neet - love the tones of blue that you have used. It sounds that although you took your kit with you, you have had a relaxing and refreshing time away.
Stay safe

The card is beautiful - I'm really into blue and white at the moment and that card just sings to me! I don't think the easing of restrictions will make a big difference to my life, I shall carry on doing what I feel comfortable with and see how the numbers go. I am concerned that we were told the vaccine will be effective for up to 25 weeks after receiving it so I'm wondering what the plans are for the people who will be coming up to that milestone soon.
I hope you have a good week, stay safe and well,

Goodness, dear Neet, you bring a LOT of goodies with you when you travel. Here in the states we have been maskless for awhile, but I will still wear one regardless. I say stay safe instead of sick. That is a lovely card. I know it will be well received. Happy WOYWW from #2.

Lovely blue birthday card. No, I am not happy about them relaxing the rules either, it doesn’t seem to make sense when cases are rising. I remember my old nappybox, I passed it on to someone, it would have been very handy for crafts. I saw a lovely foldable cool box in a sale the other day, I was very tempted, but I realised wouldn’t be able to lift it if were full. Happy WOYWW Angela #3

I have no objection to you mentioning Boris's daft ideas. Er all want to get back to normal but masks are the one thing that helps to protect us all and we will definitely carry on wearing them. Gorgeous card, loving the colours. Great use of the Nappy boxes too. Wishing you a very happy and creative woyww, Angela x18x

That's a great use of the nappy box and much more pleasant than its intended use! Buying new stamps is always fun - even for me and I don't even use them that much. But the possibility itself is exciting! Love the blue card you created with the new stamps! I have mixed feelings about the easing of the restrictions as well - my boss ordered us back to the office from the 19th - not looking forward to it! I love working from home - although I would love it even more if I didn't have to LOL! Have a lovely week, Neet! xx zsuzsa #22

I had a busy morning shortening 3 hems on a bridesmaid’s dress and then steaming it And since lunch I’ve been for my annual diabetic eye test (although it’s 18 months since my last thanks to Covid!) so I’m just catching up with a few blogs before the football starts.
I smiled at your baby boxes...mine is in use for my paints and pads at the moment...they are brilliant for crafting aren’t they?

I love the repurposed nappy boxes, Neet, and all your other organisation - Neet by name and Neat by nature lol! Your card is beautiful. When I was colouring some of my Florabunda drawings a while back, I thought to myself, plants do not have to be green, do they? The slatted bed makes a really good desk!

Thank you for your visit and for all your kind words and good wishes for Friday, and especially for your prayers. I agree, I don't think I'll have time to be bored waiting for my operation on Friday morning with all the coming and going. The time will soon pass, I've no doubt.

Like you, I love the curved work surface sweeping around my studio. Our builder was an artist! He said he got more pleasure out of creating that room for me than any of the rest of the work he did, because it gave him the chance to be creative. I remember sitting on the floor with him and he "drew" a line with the back of his biro in the carpet to indicate where things might go. It doesn't look quite as good as when it was new, though, because around the main work area there are some ink stains on it! It's a real pleasure to see it properly again now it's all tidy, and for the first time in months the room is now a pleasure to go in again. There's still some more organising to do but at least it's usable now, and I've got something really positive to look forward to during my recovery. Cindy's machine looks so awesome and I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth into that.

Thank you so much for the advice about Altenew. Angela (CraftyCat) also said it looked like Altenew as well. I'll certainly bear in mind what you said, and if I need help getting them in order I'll let you know! I've already found some good YouTube tutorials on layering stamps and as always Jennifer McGuire is good news! Not having a guide, and the stamps not being numbered, makes things a bit difficult for a beginner.

It's always a pleasure to include at least one kitty photo each week, even if it's an old one - I can't have their loyal fans being deprived, can I! I know how much you appreciate seeing our little darlings. I hope they won't go off me when I come home on Friday, because I probably won't smell right! When I was having my chemo 6 years ago, Beatrice wouldn't come near me, and she started over-grooming and losing her fur, which was very distressing. The vet said it was psychological and asked if anything had changed at home, and when my hubby told her about me, she said that was it. She was also very wary of me when I first came home with the stoma, and was just settling down when I started the chemo and she got upset again. They are very sensitive.

oh I love your card Neet. The blue is beautiful, and nice flower in the pot. Your card has so many great details to look at. I hope you had a great time away, and I hope the bee didn't bother you too much. I must admit bees don't bother me (why I have a hive now) but if it was snakes, I would be 100 miles away in a blink of an eye. Smile. And I had to look up Boris J's announcement. I am sure, just like here in the US, there is a lot of feelings about opening things up. Hope your week is going well! Hugs-Erika

Thanks for the visit. We were gone 2 days, so playing catch up and lots to do Your card is truly lovely. Love the variance of your blues. Things are a little out of control here too as far as I see it. I really was upset with stopping at one Buffet, we haven't done that in SOOOOOOOOOOOO long and it was unreal contact and I won't go to ANY other again. Enjoy your time and hope you get to use your supplies !

I can only echo what everyone is saying - it seems madness to expect people to "do the right thing" when the last couple of years have shown that they won't. I am happy to read they are finally undertaking a study of how effective the various vaccines are on the immune-compromised - but results may not be available till early 2022 so not rushing out and about yet. Love the card, it is very pretty and I really like what you did with the paperclip. Nce touch!

So very late this week!

Love that blue card! I am also a little cautious about the announcements as well. While I do understand that it is probably here to stay and we will have to learn to live with it the way we do with flue and other nasties that also kill, is now the time! I for one will still be wearing my mask in shops and on public transport. Sorry I'm so late this week - it's chaos here as usual! Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. Love this card...the blues are wonderful.
It isn't Gill's eightieth, is it? Though I know Enid is around 80 because she's a similar age to Mum. I really must find out. Time moves on but in my head, I don't.
Presuming you're back home now, enjoying the mild weather. The sun may not be cracking the flags, but it's pleasant enough. Happy Homecoming!

I am afraid I am very late this week but hope to get around everyone...

Love the blue card!
Those nappy boxes look so useful! We are off to look after the grandadughters in a week - I usually pack all sorts of crafty items (for me and for them) but it runs to large cardboard boxes!

Hello Neet, I am very, very late on parade this week. Yes definitely mixed feelings about some of the relaxations, esp not wearing masks on public transport and in shops. It just seems a couple more weeks wouldn't have hurt. Anyhoo, you seem very well organised with your crafty carry alls!! Love the cad you've made and I totally agree with that sentiment. Hopefully we are going to get a bit of weather to actually enjoy our gardens, however no rain but it will just get silly hot. Can't win!! Happy Belated WOYWW, love n hugs Cindy xx
