WOYWW 574

Another week has gone by - the weather has been lovely, pandemic rules have lessened a little (although some folks seem to think it is back to "normal" if normal is ever going to be normal) and I have done very little.  Somewhere in the past couple of weeks I began an online workshop but because of my back it didn't get finished, in fact I gave up on the Sunday morning.  So I bought Tracy's from her and that had now arrived and will go up on the wall in my craft room when Chas gets around to it.

I didn't want two the same so there seemed little point in finishing mine so I began "hacking" at it and turned the circle into a hexagon.  Got my melt-pot out, added some honey coloured paint, a Sizzix bee and a few different stamps.

This is my desk as it stands at the moment.  As you can see there is the canvas above, plus Tracy Evans's and some hearts from another Tracy (Easson) that need putting on a background piece.

I just cannot decide how best to display those hearts but I want the board underneath for something else I have planned.  Will it come to fruition - I haven't a clue, all depends on the antics of my back.  I have not had a good week again so we will have to wait and see.

In the meantime why not pop over to WOYWW to see what Julia and the girls have been up to.  I will be saying 'welcome home' to Alan, back home from his long stay in hospital with Covid, and saying 'hello' to Helen who had a nasty fall last week.  Hope the two of them are feeling much better this Wednesday as are all of you out there.

If you can, stay in and stay safe.

I spend more time fiffing and faffing planning than I do actually making something Neet. It’s the best part to me haha.

Ah Neet, what a great tweak here and there to Tracy’s project, love the bee and it wouldn’t have occurred to me to change the circle to a hexagon, even though it makes amazing sense, given the context! Tracy’s piece is lovely isn’t it, I wondered what she did with all the finished items, she would have a container full by now! Oh I do hope you can find some way, some position, some trick, to ease your back a little. Can’t help with the hearts, but I LOVE the figures!

I'm sorry you didn't feel well enough to finish the project but it was a great idea to buy another, it looks brilliant and I can see the attraction. I hope that you feel able to work on some more projects this week and that your back improves. Having never heard of Tracey Evans, I've noticed her name mentioned a lot on a few people's blogs this past month.
It's funny but even though our lockdown has been relaxed slightly in Wales, as compared to England, neither G or I feel as if we want to rush out at all - we're not frightened or anything like that, but this downtime has been good, we're very fortunate. Hope you and Chas are doing ok.

Morning Neet. You did rather have fun changing that, didn't you... well done. Sorry, though, that your back forced you into it. I hope this week will feel a little better. Thanks for your visit - wallpapering... now there is something I have always enjoyed - not done any for years, mind you. Don't know how I would feel about it now! That's for another day. Trading skills - now there is something... I might hold you to that session with needle felting and with 3D work!!
Take care of yourselves. Stay safe. God bless.

Oh Neet, how frustrating for you that your back is constantly swearing at you! Loving those canvases... your altered one as well as the original.
Here in N.Z. the winter is setting in with vengeance at the moment, but we have been without a new C-19 case for 12 days now...
Stay safe
Blessings

Sorry to hear you've had another bad week, wishing you well! Yes it seems people are just doing as they like, we live by the beach and we've been inundated with people visiting and there is no social distancing either so I've been staying at home, much safer that way 😀. Your bee canvas is amazing, I love it! The hexagon layers are perfect and is that the new stencil I see - so beautiful! I'm loving the Tracy's creation as well and those hearts look fabulous 😊. Wishing you a lovely week! Stay safe and take care! Hugs, Jo x

That art on your desk looks amazing Neet. I hope you wrap them up and we get to see finished pieces. But more so I hope your back improves. It seems so little they can for backs, isn't there? And back as well as toothaches are the worst. Take care. Hugs-Erika

Hi Neet, been seeing a lot of Tracys art and workshops on FB, she has some beautiful pieces. Yours is looking good, like the shape change. So sad your back is misbehaving, can't imagine how lowering and miserable it is for you. I'm not going out yet, despite the relaxed rules for vulnerable people, I'm going to wait and see what happens with infection rates first. Chatting to my paractice nurse a few days ago, and she was most unsure as to if it was a good idea yet. Stay safe,Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #12 X

Hi Neet, so sorry to hear your back is stopping you from crafting, so frustrating when you have things you want to do. Thank you for your earlier visit - yes I do often think about the fortune that is sitting in my craft room but as you say it has kept me sane for years. My husband walks in sometimes and surveys it all, smiles and just says 'as long as you are happy'. I am very lucky!! As for that amazing shelving it is all a bit Heath Robinson - there are a few shelving units there but a lot of it is stuff that was going to be thrown away (like drawers to hold CDs) that I have turned round to make shelves. Bits of wood balanced on piles of card offcuts so I can display bits of art - the whole thing may come crashing down one day, nothing is attached to the wall!! And yes I do have 12 die cutting machines, though 1 cuttlebug (I have 2) is a little broken, and 1 is my demonstrator X cut which I am not allowed to use anymore in stores - thank goodness because it's a horrible machine I hated having to use it. Wouldlove to have you as a guest!! Hope your pain eases soon, Happy WOYWW, stay safe, stay well, Cindy #25

I'm so sorry your back is continuing to plague you, Neet, and I am sure that once the lockdown is over, you will be able to resume the treatment that was helping so much before. It must be so frustrating for you, when it prevents you from doing what you want to do. It also seems hard that your very first outing post-lockdown has to be a hospital visit! (Which I hope goes well for you.) I absolutely love your honeycomb project! Honey bees are a favourite theme of mine, partly because I am fascinated by these amazing little creatures and their communal life in the hive, and partly because honeycomb is so beautiful, in shape and colour. The whole thing is a miracle, in my opinion, and added to by the fact that we depend for our food on these astonishing creatures who pollinate so many of our food plants.

Thank you for visiting, and I totally agree about the Jeckyl and Hyde nature of our kitties! When Ruby growled at me like that, it made me realise that their wild, hunting instincts are only just below the surface!!

Thank you for your birthday wishes too. I had such a lovely day and the weather was brilliant too. I love your suggestion of using the pineapple shell for a drink with straws - I can picture it with little paper umbrellas and other decorations, and looking very tropical!

Good kitchen knives can be very expensive. I think if you are going to be serious about anything you do, it's worth having decent tools to do it with. They are such a pleasure to use, unlike cheap ones which don't balance right, wear out too quickly, and look and feel horrible! I look on my knife set as an investment, and it is a real pleasure to use such good knives. My 8" chef's knife is due to arrive tomorrow and I can't wait. The new chopping board arrived today and was immediately pressed into service - a huge improvement on the old one.

Happy WOYWW, and take care of yourself.

LOVE your bee art! Sorry you gave up on the workshop but I bet you learned some things and had fun, despite your frustration. Also love your girls. I have some of those and haven't used them yet - now that's ridiculous! I'm inspired to get them out now... thanks for that.
Hope you're feeling okay. Just spent ages looking for your journal page...but it's not there, yet. Double checked to make sure it's Thursday, lol and it is...I'll leave this open and refresh later.

It wasn't because of anything other than the back pain that made me give up on it. I just ended up sitting and watching. Sorry if I mislead you Cath. xx
