Well, here we are, another Wednesday and time to meet up with all of our friends who bare their desks each week. I've not really done anything for the whole week but did do a page of my black and white journal that I started years and years ago - well ok last year.
It is something that can be done anywhere because all you need is a white pen and a book with black pages. Must say that if I was to do it again I would use a white book and a black pen. The only problem I have with what I am doing is the white pen - I have tried loads. In fact I am so "off them" at the moment because the one I was using "blobbed" on my jeans. In an attempt to get it off I wet a piece of tissue and rubbed it off. Result: my best grey jeans now have a white streak on them - yes the colour has come out of the jeans (now about 3" x 1") - and I knew that was what happens as it did it before on my others. M & S too, so not cheap ones!
Pens I have tried: Gel, Posca, Sharpies, Dylusions, Pen Touch, One4All and maybe others in the past.
Health Update:
Blister is well, back pain is still here but the consultation last Thursday with Mr Singh went really well. I don't want to discuss it on here as it is something I don't like talking about but he does not think it is a polyp in fact he thinks that all the procedures in the past have been barking up the wrong tree an that I have Meckle's Diverticulum. Not to be confused with diverticulitis it is something that 2% of the population are born with.
So in November (and that is Mr Singh rushing it through) I will swallow a capsule which is a camera and which will travel around my bowel taking data and passing it to a belt I am wearing. That will be the decider on what happens next. My haemoglobin levels are only 8.3 which I think is pretty low and accounts for the tiredness etc but now with iron tablets doubled up and another blood test in two weeks we can hope for an increase there.
This afternoon I attend my first Pain Management Class - still not sure what I am going to get from them but I am signed up for 6 weeks and not allowed to miss one or you start all over again. We will just have to wait and see - maybe a brief account next week.

Keeping my fingers crossed Neet that all these tests go well and give you excellent results-so you can get your life back. Hugs-Erika
Oh, Neet... I really feel for you and hope that the latest tests put them in the right direction... good luck with pain management visit. Love the black and white page, even if your jeans are spoilt! take care Helen #1
A camera capsule sounds much better than an endoscopy or colonoscopy Neet. Hope the test makes things a great deal clearer and that the pain management classes are useful. I have a signo uniball pen that seems to work most of the time at the moment. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #7
Morning Neet. Oh - what a disaster for your jeans! The pen takes the colour out of the jeans??? What on earth is in the ink? Your page looks good, nevertheless!
I do trust all goes well in the next couple of weeks with your camera and the results... and also with the pain management class.
Take care dear girl. God bless.

Good Morning Neet, super white pen page. Ooo the white pen debate!! I have a love hate relationship with it as they all clog or blob. I find the colder months are worse maybe due to the chalk in them so always try and keep them in a warm place before I use one. I'm currently juggling between a signo & hybrid gel pen depending on what I use them on. I'd use white paint for everything if I had the patience...
Good to hear the blister is healing and that the process you are about to go through may find out what that hidden cause really is.. Sending (((Hugs))) Tracey #6
I rather like the white on black effect [bit like chalk on a blackboard]. Sorry to hear about your jeans though. Lets hope they can sort out your health problems so life can be rather easier for you my friend.
Hugs,

Love the look of the white on black Neet, but what a pain to have it blob on your jeans and then stain :(
Sounds as though you may have quite a journey ahead of you. both with Mr Singh and the pain clinic. Praying that your health improves overall
Blessings
Maxine
Your black & white journal looks amazing. Stampin' Up! do a white pen, although I haven't tried it myself. I've got a couple of Poscas which are so old they probably don't work any more.
Your journal page is very interesting. I love the intricate desigh.

Oh Neet I do hope that little camera finds some answers for you and Mr. Singh sounds hopeful. I am with you about the white pens, I have given up and now use white acrylic ink with a calligraphy nib. Occasionally make a splosh but generally ok. Have a better week.

Your journal is beautiful - what delicate work - but I do sympathise with the white pen problems - I have tried many over the years and none are white enough and some do tend to have unpredictable ink flow - it's so annoying.
Glad to hear you have started your pain management group - I hope that goes well for you and offers some positive help.
Hope you have a good week,
Hugs, Diana xx #17
At last, someone who is taking your condition seriously and thinking outside the box. Here's hoping that the new investigation will show up a better way of helping you. Sending hugs and lots of love to you. Xxxx
What a bummer about your jeans, I bet you cussed when that happened....I really do like the white on black very much, probably more than the reverse would be.

Morning Neet! Love your book, but I get the complaint with the white pens. I find they are all OK except when they are not - ie not v reliable!! Did you draw the cheeky elves in the background? Good to hear there is some progress with your health issues - do hope you get some resolution soon! Love n hugs, Cindy #18
Lovely black and white. Oh the frustrations of ruining clothes while wearing them!!! I have to change clothes a lot during harvest season, scaruffy at home working with canning, foods etc and presentable when in the car/dropping him from field to field as town visits coming home. Prayers for good health results and have an enjoyable week.
Hope it all went well today and it has helped with the pain. Take care. Your page is stunning.

Hope the management classes prove useful to you. And that your mini camera floating around you Fantastic Voyage style will reveal your next medical steps. Love the journal and you know that I too struggle with white pens. Hugs xx

PS, I've had most success with the Signo broad nib pens...they're far more consistent and very white! Got mine on Ebay x
Mm, think my go to white pen is either uniball or signo, forgotten which is my fav. And too lazy to get up and look on pen.. may come back. If remember. Glad the blister is better, and esp fir eyes Dr like Dr Singh, I saw a Dr Singh this week, but he’s an ophthalmologist. A good one also, been seeing him since 1985!
Take care Neet and praying fir positives with your back issue too, may Lord guide all who treat you. Praying His keeping on you.
Happy belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #10

Cancel recommend of Uniball or Signo.
Neither. Think binned them. It’s Gelly Roll. No issues or blockage with it. X
Hi Neet. Good news re the blister. Sorry that your back continues to be such an issue. I really hope that things can be sorted out.
I've never had great success with white pens either.
Sorry re late reply. Emergency call out to elderly Auntie last night ( mum's sister - she is 94 years old) Anne X @2
Hi Neet - I just haven't managed to get round many desks this week but really wanted to thank you for your fairy request. I will pop one in the post - just say what colour you fancy - red or pink or lilac or pale blue - all with white or cream. Just pop a donation in any charity box to make life easy! Hope your further tests etc help with your pain - it sounds positive so fingers crossed. I love the black/white design -I have done the same to my jeans by rubbing too hard to remove my messy crafty marks! xx Jo
I know exactly what you mean with the white pens. Sometimes they're useless from the start, sometimes they work beautifully for a little while and then just seem to give up the ghost. And I don't think I'm maltreating them. In any case, your doodled page (does that count as Zentangling - looks like it to me, but I'm not very up on that side of things) looks fabulous. But yes, I can see that black on white might be simpler next time around.
I'm glad to hear the blister is healing - and the description of the "camera pill" reminded me of those 1970s sci-fi films with the tiny shrunk man galloping around inside someone's body. Am I misremembering that?! Anyway, do hope it gives you a firm diagnosis - maybe from there they can start to sort you out properly.

Hi Neet, I love your black and white page! I think we all struggle with white pens, and I'm sorry yours ruined your jeans! I recently spilt some bleach on my best turquoise trousers and there's a white patch right at the front... I was furious. I wish the bleach had been as effective on my teabags. Anyway, I have always used Signo pens but they are water based and I've found they can rub off and aren't very durable. Last year my hubby gave me a set of Derwent graphik line painter pens which are filled with acrylic which is much better. Some people have complained about the pen blobbing but if you prime it correctly before use I don't think that's a problem. I've found the white pen to be quite a nice intense white and the result is a lot more stable and permanent. You can buy the pens in sets of colours or individually.
I'm glad your blister is on the mend, and very pleased to hear that they might have a definite diagnosis for you at last. Swallowing the camera pill sounds a good idea. Years ago I had to swallow a biopsy capsule on the end of a long flexible tube and the whole thing was horrendous, but technology has definitely moved on! This was when I first developed chronic diarrhoea in my 20s, back in the 1970s. I never had a colonoscopy at that time and they didn't find anything terribly abnormal with all their tests, and I was diagnosed with IBS. When I had my first colonoscopy in 2013 when my first bowel cancer screening test revealed blood, they immediately diagnosed ulcerative colitis, and I am convinced that was my problem the whole time - the usual age of onset is in the 20s. Anyway, if they do confirm the diagnosis, I hope there is something they can do to solve the pain - I know that surgery can be an option and is generally very successful. It will be nice to get to the root of the anaemia, too - I was anaemic for years with my bowel problem because of continuous slow loss of blood.
Thank you for your two lovely comments, especially the one on the slippers post! I know how much I've kept you in suspense over the months lol! So glad you like them. It's been a really different and fun project to do. I agree with you that the little felt circles covering up the repair stitches look as if they were meant to be all along - I was particularly thrilled with that outcome!
I have to say that preserved lemons are totally different from lemon juice. The process may take time, but it's very little work. You wouldn't want to use them in everything because the flavour is incredibly intense but I think it's well worth doing them. I've had my jar for months and they just get better!
Thanks for all your good wishes, for my PIP assessment and general health - I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you. I think having a cold, and all the stress associated with the PIP business, dragged me down and I got a lot of payback.
Happy WOYWW,
