Cor blimey, it's September already and here we are with Ms Julia again and her WOYWW blog hop. Pop along to find out what I am on about. To explain it a bit more here is my desk, photo taken yesterday in readiness for the hoppity hop hop.
Yes, rather set up. It was Shaz mentioning those ColorBox tools (see the RH pot) last week. Those are mine. The pot is a can I made years ago when on a CHA workshop. It was using Lumiere paints and we painted the can first of all, then stuck some sand like stuff on to give it a bit of texture, a picture and some plastic buttons. I still remember it well. It is finished off with a piece of string tied around the top for a handle
Couldn't show you that one without showing you my funny faces. This was one I made with my friend, Liz Welch a few years ago on one of our weeks away crafting. It was not long after she had done a Nolitex exhibition where she made this HUGE pocket watch and covered it in faces for numerals. Well, she had me putting some gauze type fabric on a can, wrinkling it up and then painting it. It must have had some kind of stiffener in it before I coloured and draped it on. Next was to make those little faces with paper clay. Each one had to have a different expression so it was good fun making eyes, noses and ears in different ways. Wish I could find a photograph of her pocket watch, it really was something rather special. She had it on a wall in a spare bedroom later and I was thrilled one weekend to be sleeping in the bed by the side of it. Hard to believe she is no longer with us. Such a talented lady.
Well, this is turning into a lot of chit cat and, as it is Tuesday evening when I am writing this, I am falling asleep. Think I dropped off twice already! Just before I leave you, remember the little guy I asked you to identify a short while ago? Well here he is and as you can see he is a hand held fan - perfect for the hot sunny days we had. He came, originally, filled with sweets. Think he can go away until next year now though. Don't you?
Health Update:
Nothing to report really. My chiropractor is on holiday as I mentioned last week so no treatment until the 13th. Bad weekend but then Monday brought about three hours of 'no pain'. I was beginning to think something had moved in my back and it was over. No such luck and yesterday was a bad day again. Ah well, Rome was not built in a day. And there's a lot worse than me out there. I keep reminding myself - I have 'hope' and I have 'faith'.

Love those cans especially the one with the faces. Hope your chiropractor comes back and helps you again soon, 13th seems a while away but is fairly close ... keep the hope! Helen#?

HI Neet, firstly, yes, the card did arrive, for which I need to apologise for not thanking you! Love those pots, especially the one with the faces. Fabulous.Isn't it lovely how our crafts remind us of good times with wonderful people? Keeping my fingers crossed that the chiropracter can give you some relief. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X
Really love the fun pots Neet. It sounds like your back is improving even if it's two steps forward one back for a while just keep it all going in the right direction....I've got everything crossed for you here.
Hugs,

The funny face cup is fantastic. It made me smile. And I like your other cup too. And you are right about Rome not being built in a day. Hope today has been a better day with your back and hopefully pain free days are coming. Hugs-Erika
Isn't it wonderful how our creations can bring back all sorts of memories? I still remember the way I felt when I was creating certain things. I've tried to look up Liz's blog - her Wordpress.com site is still up, but her .com site is no longer accessible. What a shame! Many people would still find it inspirational, I'm sure. Loving your two little cans - they're so unique and personal. Good luck on the 13th - I hope they can do something to help! xx zsuzsa #18
I wonder why you had those three pain free hours on Monday? I'm so sorry that it didn't last though Neet, you deserve a break from this constant pain..sending you gentle healing hugs.
The can with the faces made me laugh, they're such characters and remind me of bosses in a cathedral..I always like the faces based on real people best. That would make me smile everyday as well as the memories of making it in the first place. Thanks for sharing it xx

Amazing cand Neet! Fingers crossed for your back that the pain goes away!
Big hugs, Susi
Love the cans - especially the fun faces one. Sorry to hear about your back pain, you are in my prayers. In response to your comment on my blog - I am not sure how much longer I will keep swimming as I dont have a wetsuit and am not great in really cold water, but we will see! Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#12)
Hi Neet. You're right these things take time but maybe if you're having some time with less pain it might just get longer in between until it gradually fades. Lets hope so. Have a lovely woyww, Angela x11x
love those cans Neet, especially the one with the wee faces :). That fan must have been really handy this past summer for you. Glad to hear you had a wee break from the back pain, do hope the Chiropractor can give you some permanent relief.
Blessings
Maxine
Haha love the faces can!!!!P xx
Such funny faces Neet make such a fun decoration. Sorry to hear you have not had much relief from your back pain. The 13th can't come soon enough. Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #2
I love reading your craft memories, I mean you’re pretty well entrenched among suppliers and demos, you must know everyone and have a story to tell...perhaps write a kiss and tell book when you aren’t in the mood for actually crafting! So sorry that Chiropractor gal is on holiday, just think how recharged and great she’ll be when 13th comes around. Im amazed and thrilled that you had a window without any pain - it can only be a good sign....its possible, it can happen - I am willing it to happen again Neet
Lovely cans and the one with the faces on is so funny, what a group of little characters you have there. I am sorry you have had a bad week with your back, I so hope you get a little bit more relief this week until you get to see your chiropractor.

As I know you have been praying I just wanted to let you know that Gran passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday night. Apparently having been curled up in a ball of pain and moaning despite high levels of morphine, she suddenly relaxed at 11pm and stretched out and went fast to sleep at peace and apparently pain free for the first time in a few days, Mum left her at that point to come home, and Gran never woke up, she died at some point during the night, apparently peacefully. Thanks for all your prayers. Caro xxx
Those cans are so cute Neet! The face one cracks me up. I am sorry to hear the pain is still with you. I will send more healing thoughts your way. Have a blessed week!

Hi dear Neet,
Well, pain free hours, how precious! praying you will be blessed with many more, for mercy grace and blessing in abundance from the Lord.
Love love your two wee posts, ,mostly the faces one grabs me, how clever you are to make those faces, truly incredible.
I just read Caro’s comment on her gran, I’m glad I did cos I’ve been praying for her too.
What a mercy that peace right at the end. So many dear ones to pray for..
Happy very belated WOYWW. Thanks for sharing, Shaz in Oz.x #20

Those little pots are fun and I love the fan - great little item. Hope you manage a few more pain free hours. Thinking of you. xx Jo
What fun things in your post this week, Neet! The funny faces made me smile. Wow, a few pain-free hours - that's brilliant! I am sure you are on the right road now. The time will quickly pass and the chiropracter will be back. I do wish you well for your future treatments.
Thank you for your visit and I'm so glad you are enjoying my current cooking adventures! Unfortunately I ran out of steam this afternoon and had to call it a day till it was time to get supper on - a bit frustrating as I'm inundated with almond pulp from making my almond milk and it's getting to the stage when I'm going to have to start throwing it away, which rather goes against the grain. I've got recipes to use it, but no time or energy to do them!
I've just realised I never actually published my WOYWW post this week. Too stressed out with my PIP assessment and my life this week went a bit pear-shaped. It's up now, though.

Your funny faces have put a big smile on my face... I love all the different expressions. And the other pot is lovely - how nice to have even your storage containers so covered in inspiration. Happy to hear about your magical Monday with a few pain-free hours... fingers crossed for more of that as time goes on.
