I wanted to do another journal page entry for Art Journal Journey and so I thought of using some magazine collaging for a change from my usual Dylusion figures. In this case the figure, to fit in with the criteria is wearing a top that is striped. Erika has asked for either polka-dots, stripes, plaids or patterns and if you look there are polka-dots and patterns forming the frame around the journal page. You don't have to include them all so I only included what I could find.
This was done in the style of Teesha Moore by cutting various patterns from a magazine to provide the frame for the central figure who is sitting on a brayered background.
Not too unlike my Dylusion figures this one is made up from various bit of magazine pictures. The head is separate from the body and the bow in her hair is actually from a perfume bottle. Her skirt is a handbag which I thought could be used in this way. I love the pattern on her fishnet tights and the way her shoes lace up provide us with yet another pattern. I doubt very much I could walk in anything with a heel that height these days. What about you?
Now I have the 'bug' for doing more of these so watch out, Erika I will be back.
Just realised I have cut the border off from the base of the page. When I saw it as a thumbnail prior to publishing I didn't realise it was my page. Oops!

I hope you do come back s this is such a good page. I really like the patterns you used and how you created a pattern using all those squares. And I like the girl too. She does remind me of a Dylusions lady too. Thanks so much for joining in again at Art Journal Journey. Hope to see you again soon Neet. Hugs-Erika
This is genius, Neet. The way you used those disparate body parts was bold and brazen. I can tell there was a base, too. The way you framed her was great and I also was drawn to the fishnet tights and high heels I'd never be able to walk in. This was a great job, and I'm so impressed. Even the earrings had stripes. Thanks for sharing this with us using Erika's theme at Art Journal Journey. We love that you have found the perfect challenge and it is here with us at Art Journal Journey.
A wonderful collaged page Neet - love the composite figure, especially the hand bag skirt! No, I could not walk in heels that high - never really did either :).
Blessings

Brilliant collaging to create your figure, though I have to confess I find her steely gaze just a little unnerving! Fabulous patterns in the background, and I love the overall patchwork effect.
