WOYWW 514

Another week, another Wednesday another WOYWW (how many "W's" is that?)  More to the point what is it - WOYWW is where we meet up each week to show our desks.  Why not join us?

My back must be feeling better as I have WIP on my desk.  Whey Hey, Zippity Doo Daa!

Won't go into how many days it has taken me to get to this stage but not always because of my bad back.  I just wish I had that lovely Antipodean Lady who used to do the most wonderful things with lace right here besides me.  Her name escapes me, as does her blog, but I have missed her, and so much of late when I wanted to do something with lace and things.

I finally found the box that had my lace in, went through it and sorted out some of the white and some of the cream lace into two piles and then cut bits off each.  Now I need to go through my box of trimmings and my metal bits too - all can be incorporated into the tea-bag cards/things I am making.

I want to make a book out of them as well as cards but haven't figured how to hold the pages together - got several ideas in my head but need to try them all out and just hope the sewing one does not come out on top or I need to take a couple of machines to the workshop and that could pose a problem.  Anyway, my desk today shows the two piles of lace pieces and the bits I have cut off from some of them.  In front to the left of the teabags you can see the book page I am working on (close up below).

Here is the beginning of a tea-bag covered in lace with a picture in it.  No fear of my class seeing it as none of them ever go on my blog.

I did think of putting another layer of lace on the tea-bag but my head is saying "it could be fabric or card underneath if it is lace layered on lace - this is supposed to be a tea-bag - so let the tea-bag show through".  What do you think?

What a lovely sight to see Neet, all that calming lace. In this house it's a case of opening a box that has NOT got any lace/crochet in it as it breed rapid in my home and appears to be almost everywhere. You'll find a perfect solution to binding that book i'm sure ;) It's looking super.
Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey (5) xx
P.S Hubby's doing good Thank you, doing as he is told with his twice weekly cardio work outs. Good to hear your back is giving you some creative time.. enjoy xx

Great to see you crafting and prepping :) My personal opinion is it doesn't matter if you see the tea bag or not, its a jumping off point. Love how it looks though and the lace layers look gorgeous x

Oh that’s gorgeous, Neet! The lady in Australia is called Judy. I’ve got some of her fabulous flowers decorating my wheelchair, and I also have one of her little hangings. This has inspired me because I’ve been wondering what I’m going to do with my literally thousands of teabags! Glad to hear your back is somewhat better and hope and pray for greater improvements.

Many thanks for your visit. My first thought was... “Oh no, not again...” regarding the wretched photos! I have got to pull out all the stops over the next couple of days and get onto Wordpress. I’m so sick of this Google mess!!!!! If I do I’ll make this week’s WOYWW my first post. Thanks for the good wishes for this p.m.

Happy WOYWW,

Wasn't it Ros McGregor (not sure of the surname). She used to post a lot, didn't she? Hope she's ok as I've not seen her on the blogs for ages. That lace is lovely, I hope you have a good time playing with it but I'm mostly thrilled that you're feeling better enough to craft...long may that continue!
I quite enjoyed the needle felting but it's not something I'll be taking up whereas others in the group really took to it..you can never tell what'll float your boat eh? We're doing quilling next month with a lady coming in to show us.

I’ve never had a go with teabag art, I’ll have to add it to the to do list Neet.

Hooray for feeling good and crafting Neet! I love the piles of lace and that card/page looks magnificent, don't cover the tea bag as it is like you say: it's a teabag and I love it shining through! Enjoy your day! Happy woyww and a big hug from Holland. Marit #17

Hi Neet it was Judy as Shoshi says, I have some of her work too won a candy from her. Can’t recall her blog but think Judy was in its name an something like ramblings or such.. hasn’t blogged for ages as hunted her up about eight months or more ago. And RosA doesn’t blog either she’s knitting these days. Ros McGregor was another blogger from here, but not lace or such mainly painterly type of craft .. I’ve my drawer set on my desk cos of her she has not blogged for ages either.
Great re lady and Lacey them and definitely need to see the lovely tea bag IMHO!

Morning Neet. Weyhey!! Brilliant that you are up for some crafting. You must indeed be feeling a little better I'm so pleased! I'm with the others - if you are going to use a teabag rather than fabric or card - yes, let it be obvious. I have to admit I can't ever imagine myself using a teabag for anything other than a pot of my favourite Earl Grey... but there you go...
Take care girl. God bless.

Hi Neet just rembered Judy’s blog,
It’s Judy’s fabrications ... however her blog has lost all her art, not blogged for years. And looks like all her photos are gone too..
Think this is her site it’s def the name of her blog but there is someone else on Etsy called that. Xxxx

Lovely to hear you are feeling well enough to do some crafting and I love your Lacey creation. I think the lady you're thinking of is Judy of Judy's Fabrications but I've not seen her on WOYWW for a long time. Have a great week. Elizabeth X #26

Thank you for your visit to my new blog, Neet. I think Wordpress is going to be great once I've got everything set up properly. I am going through major problems at the moment with logging on - managed only through the help of our lovely neighbour who allowed me to access her Internet connection this evening! Bluehost's help team are on it and I hope for some news over the next couple of days.

So glad you like the slippers and embellishments! It's a fun project and I'm enjoying doing it when there is time between all this computer hassle.

I've got toothache again - that wretched wisdom tooth that he filled is playing up again so I shall have to go back again over the next few days when my hubby is free to take me.

Hoping your back is a bit better today!

The tea bag is gorgeous! What a talent! I have been thinking of tea bag art. looking at what other people are doing with it - yours is awesome! You asked if the dragon on my desk was a clue to the card - yes it is! I will reveal next week! (His birthday is today) Glad your back is feeling better. I'm having a back muscle issue this week, going to the chiro today. I keep re-injuring it every time I go to work, so I'm taking the day off today. Thanks for your earlier visit, have a great week! Lindart #29
