Jeudi Journal

This time the quote is "Smile, it is the key that fits the lock of everybody's heart" and I thought that quite appropriate for Valentine's Day and I could use some hearts on it.  I had some left over from my February Diary so knew I could use them but what to do about the background colour.

Lightbulb moment!  The challenge over at Art Journal Journey is to use Yellow.  So what was the background colour going to be?  Yellow!  To be precise three Distress Ink Shades of Yellow with a fourth one through a stencil to make a border (and a couple of bits on the page too).

Because the contrasting colour was going to be red (hearts) I thought I would dress her in greens and blues but then she could have a tweed coloured jacket.  She had to have a head on that would tilt slightly so the figure I was to use was determined.

So that it is - another page - only two more to go and then the journal is full.  Now what is it we are doing next week?

I am happy you thought of our challenge "Yellow" to create this gorgeous background with four different shades of yellow! Red, green and blue fits perfect to the page and the lady and her little dog on the head can smile!
Wish you a happy Valentine's Day - the quote is perfect for this day!
Thank you for linking another great page to AJJ! Rike

She looks so sassy Neet, if only I could carry off a mixture of spots and tweed along with bright colours, life would be so much simpler when choosing from the wardrobe. Fab journal spread with that sunny yellow background.
Hope you've had a super Valentine's day.
Take good care of yourself, Hugs Tracey xx

Great use of yellow, Neet - she looks good and it's one of my favourite quotes from Di... the hearts worked perfectly, too :-)

My mobile broke Monday morning, so I hope you're okay and all is well... touch screen stopped working after I'd dropped it (again!) so I need to get it fixed when I can...just got a quote, so maybe not too long.
Thanks for all your lovely comments :-)

I'm not sure you will see this post, Neet because I am very far behind and playing catch-up after my bout with pneumonia. I LOVE your lightbulb moments. They always seem to come at the right time, too. Your lady is so cleverly placed on the page, and her outfit is so colorful. I adore the doggy glasses, but don't tell Bleubeard. I love the various inks you used to turn this into a yummy yellow beauty. Thanks for joining us again at Art Journal Journey, dear.
