WOYWW 493

Another week has gone by and at last the carpet has been cleaned so we should be able to get back to some (and I do emphasise the word "some") semblance of normality.  At least the furniture can go back into the lounge now but then we have to get the bedroom emptied and ourselves moved into the spare room for the main bedroom to be fitted and a new floor to be laid.  Despite not making any Christmas cards I cannot wait for the season to be here - we should be living in a normal home by then.

Here is my desk today:

OK still no "C" word cards as yet but I did get two birthday cards made.  I just fell in love with this stamp a while ago (January in America to be honest) - it tickled my sense of humour and so two lucky (??) people got these cards for their birthdays on the 10th and 11th November.  Both were delivered by me to the Vicky Stampers but unfortunately I still did not feel well enough to stay - I had packed my bag ready and even put a sandwich up.  Felt so bad letting my bff down as she had saved me a seat next to her but by the time I got there I was feeling sickly again.

You can also see a couple of stamps out that I intend to use some time in my journal for the Thursday challenge I have with Wendy.  There is the list below showing all the topic names for the coming weeks.

Hope I can make it on Sunday to Leigh Show as I have planned on this being my last - retirement at last from demo'ing.  Getting a bit long in the tooth for keeping bubbling and enthusing for a full day with an early start.  I will miss folks but hopefully will be able to go and have a look around and a chat to my favourite vendors.

In the meantime I am linking to Julia and going for a nose to see what other deskers have been up to.

Hugs for now, and BTW, the missing gift?  I ordered something else for my friend and half the order came, the other half is still outstanding.  Not to be put off or too disappointed I wrapped the 'half' a gift up ready to go next day.  Then I asked Chas to get my tote out of the garage (remember so much has been put away because of the lounge) and on opening it there it was - her proper gift!!!  I had put it in there in readiness for packing for the club.  Relief and annoyance took a swipe at one another - I am so annoyed I did not think to look in there before - but I am sure I did!!!

Sorry you are still feeling under the weather, hope you are back on form for the Leigh show - especially if you are stopping demo'ing after then. Glad you (eventually) found the mislaid gift - typical that, isn't it!! Helen #??

I'm sorry to say it's a copied and pasted comment today to let you know I've visited you and read your blog. My ipad isn't playing nicely and wont let me comment on many of the blogs and I am unable to sit for long sessions at the lap top with my painful hip.
Hugs,

Hi Neet, glad you found the gift, but it's really annoying I agree. Love the cards, really unusual stamp. Good to hear the renovations are going well. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #9 X

Morning, Neet. I hope you are feeling a lot better and able to get out and about to wherever you choose. I had to miss out on a great workshop because I was too tired to be safe driving. Thank you for your visit today and lovely comments. Have a lovely week. xxx Maggie #9

I hope you feel better soon... it's the season to 'feel sick' or catch a cold, luckely no bugs found me (yet!) It's some issue isn't it, moving around the house, storing things and unpacking and moving furniture around, I know! I hope you will be able to enjoy 'a proper house' soon! Thanks for the visit to my blog already, can't wait to see you make something 'sashiko-stitches-patches' from paper... Happy woyww, have a great day. Big hug from Holland. Marit #20

Regarding your last paragraph, I can't tell you how many times I do something like that!! Why is it that even after you've searched somewhere many times, the offending article pops up afterwards? I reckon it's pixies.
Wow, the end of demo-ing, that's a big step but you've done a huge amount for people over the years and it's time to put yourself first. I'm so sorry that you're still feeling poorly, really hope that you start to feel better properly very soon.
Hugs LLJ 6 xx

Glad the gift turned up Neet, they have a habit of doing that after you've paid out for something else (husband + phone I'll say no more). Sorry you're still feeling poorly. Hope Leigh goes well. Your birthday cards made me lol. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4

Hi Neet, glad to hear your home is getting back to normal, but so sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. Aww, I'm pleased you found the missing gift, I've done similar myself! I don't think I will be at Leigh on Sunday as we have our grandsons coming for a sleepover on Saturday and I think they are likely to stay till after lunch on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by earlier and the tips for the Gelli. I'll try them out this week, and report back next week. Have a lovely week and hope you feel better soon, hugs Heather xx #13

Hi Neet. I'm sorry but the story about the gift made me smile. How many times do I put things away safe and then forget where I've put it, I mean why should you be any different Lol! Thanks for the visit to mine and have a great woyww, Angela x16x

Neet, I’m so sorry to hear you are still poorly and it must have been so frustrating to have to cry off something you really wanted to do. Sometimes one can get quite fed up with one’s body for letting one down!! Also, to have to put up with disruption on the home front when you’re not in the best of health... I hope both these issues are soon fully resolved and you and your life are back to normal again. I hope you enjoyed your demo swan-song and can now enjoy a well-deserved retirement from it and concentrate on your own projects. I seem to spend most of my time these days looking for things! I get so fed up with wasting time searching for things because I’ve put them somewhere silly and can’t remember doing it!!! It’s even worse when you haven’t got that much energy to waste! Yesterday it was a little hoard of chocolate lol, but it’s probably a good thing I couldn’t find that.

Thank you for your comment and I’m glad my scan picture amused you - I thought people might like a different view of Shoshi for a change!!! Also glad you enjoyed seeing our kitties - you are right, they are utterly charming and adorable and we love them more each day. They are so close and love to be together. They give us such a sense of wellbeing and happpiness that it must be good for our health!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Just keep thinking of how it will all look fresh and welcoming when it's finished Neet, I know it seems a long way away but it can be so stressful. I have umpteen things I could pull my hair out about atm.
Glad you did find the missing gift albeit a little later than needed, hope you can make good use of it again or save it for another time.
Wishing you a relaxing Sunday & Take good care of yourself.
