WOYWW 459

Another Wednesday crept up on me as usual - quicker than I thought possible.  It's the morning for visiting Julia and her band of merry men bloggers here.  Pop along and see what it's all about and join in, what's holding you back - you can meet up with lots of like minded bloggers at 'The Crop in Llandudno' in September too.  See details on Julia's blog.

So what is on my desk today?  Well, yesterday you would have seen a desk like this

At last I have made a start on stamping on my small Distress Book similar to one I made with Sandra Botham at Art from the Heart.  These are my new Jane Davenport stamps which I brought back with me from America.  (Helen just pointed out that these are Dina Wakeley stamps - my Jane ones are dotted about in here but not shown - doh!)

Do you remember the skull pencil case from the other week?  Well it now has my Dylusion pens in, my Lamy pens and on the underneath side some black and some white pens, all ready for my journalling.  It also had the small book on the photo above as it was part of my "going away" craft kit but I decided not to take it in the end and left it at home this time.

I am determined to get this one finished this week so watch this space.

Today, however, my desk looks like this

I have been making a birthday card for a friend and you can just see a bit of it peeking out from under one of the sets of stamps from PaperArtsy.  I used stamps from these two sets you see but what I didn't do is take a photograph of the finished card.  Oops!  Something I often do.  I left this photo until the end in case she happens to see her card on Bloglovin' before she receives it.  No need now is there?

Had some good news, in fact a lovely surprise Monday night.  My friend Mary, in America who we stay with and who is in hospital with a broken wrist and hip and those horrible blisters that she has had since November, well, last night she Facetimed me for the second time in a week (first time it was 2 am here which is why I neglected to mention it at the time).  It was wonderful to see and hear her as it has been awful being so far away and not getting daily bulletins.  Apparently the doctor is well satisfied with her progress and there is talk that she might be able to go home in a week or two.  Several people have offered to have her stay with them but she wants to go to her own home.  Can't blame her as she has been away far too long now.  I think she will have to have a suit made from bubble wrap to keep her from harm should she fall again.  Or they put her in a bubble of her own.

Well, will keep it to that, just had to share the good news.  Now hop on over to Julia's blog and see what everyone is up to.  Toodle pip!

ps did you know I was addicted to a certain fruit tea from Spain?  I bought lots in Tenerife to get me through to the next time I visit Spain.  I sat outside the supermarket in the sun opening boxes and putting more teabags into each box until they were 'full to busting'.  How many do you think I brought?  Teabags that is?  I'll tell you next week.

Hi Neet, great to hear that Mary will be home soon. At least I don't have far to go for my drink addiction (Coconut Latte), as Asda is on my way home from work. I usually buy at least 15 boxes at a time when they are on offer though lol. Have a good week. Sarah #12

I bet there’s several hundred tea bags in those boxes....and I bet they will soon disappear. Enjoy it my friend. Great news about your friend....I hope she continues to recover well at home. At least she should sleep better in her own bed.

Happy WOYWW. I am guessing 122. Is there a prize?! Spain - we have been dreaming of buying a property there for years (had regular holidays in various parts of the mainland and the Canaries, and envied those getting on the plane with just handluggage). Watching all the property programmes on tv led us to a new area in Northern Costa Blanca, which sounded perfect for us (professional cyclists do their winter training there, there is coast/mountains/countryside, great shopping/restaurants/bars, quieter than many other Costa areas, only 1 hour from Alicante airport and a real mix of nationalities live/visit there). We visited in October, loved it and started looking at properties in estate agent windows. We went back in December for 2 weeks and viewed properties. Saw a couple that we nearly bought, but they weren't perfect (one needs a builder to finish it off, another was a terrace with an empty property next door which worried me). So we are going back at the end of April to view more - and in a new area closer to the coast where there is flat ground for me to cycle. All very exciting! We have made friends out there already, and more people to meet up with that we have chatted with online. I have joined a Ladies Lunch group, a Ladies Coffee group, an art group, golfing group and we are going to a Supper Club. It is such a friendly and social area. As soon as we have less commitments in the UK I want to be out there for most of the year. I always cry when we leave Spain - my soul really is there in the sunshine. Ali x #13

426! There's a random number for you :-D. I wonder what the locals thought of you sitting there rearranging your tea bags, lol!!!
Wow, those colours in your journal are bright and in-your-face (in a good way!) they're a great way to brush away the dull colours of the past week and bring a little light and freshness into our lives. Hopefully Spring is on the way now?

Wonderful news from Mary, am totally understanding the desire to be at home. Her friends will rally round and help her to be at home i’m Sure. Or you’ll have to go back for a couple of months! Dina or Jane..both will look utterly fabulous in that gorgeous book. I like the idea of the case just for journal pens...a place for everything....now to just remember when you reach out for one and it’s not where it used to be. Oh that’s just me is it?!!

Hi Neet, Doug is another fan of fruit & herbal teas, but i really can't get along with them, lol. Love that pen case, sounds fab for journaling/doodling pens, must have a look for one. Love the colours in the Oxide card at the top, so beautiful. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

Say 20 bags per box and possibly 50 boxes equals 1000. Depends how much tea you drink in one day and how long they have to last. Remember when you couldn't be decent instant coffee here and I used to empty jars into a plastic container to make the luggage lighter. Ani 8&9

My guess is 720 tea bags. . . Great news about your friend, she must feel so grateful to be going home! I often forget to take photos of my cards, especially when I make them at the last minute! (I'm sure you didn't do that!) Have a great week, Lindart #34

Hi Neet, Glad your friend is doing well.

My favourite drink is Nescafe Irish Latte. My friend get's them for me from Asda when they are on offer. They are on offer now, but they haven't had the Irish Latte.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Hi Neet, pleased to hear your friend is getting better and will soon be home again or at least out of hospital. You're not the only one that stocks up while away. I often buy Liptons tea when we are in France as they sell it in the supermarkets so it's easy to get hold of. Hope we get to see a bit more of the gorgeous Distress Book. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy creative woyww, Angela x17x

That is good news about your friend. Glad you got a good update and some FaceTime. I still don’t know how to do that and it is on my iPad! It is fun to get and fill a new bag! I am a bag lady and love things like that. I just had won a gift certificate from Misi and since I already had a Misti, I got the bag, it is so awesome as it not only has a place for the Misti, but all kinds of compartments for things like markers, cardstock, stamps. I just love it and can’t wait to go to a scrap retreat and pack it! LOL. I am addicted to some teas, lots of different ones. I can’t imagine how many bags you got, but I will guess 250!
Happy belated WOYWW! #35

And it's a beautiful card, Neet - thank you very much :-)

Your desk is always so tidy... I find it so hard to work if I don't have lots of things to hand.

Thanks again

Adore the background colours in your book. Not only you to get confused as to what I was up to, a FB friend thought I'd made egg biscuits!! Me cook!! They don't know me that well!! Ended up cutting out 500+ more eggs for the Easter Event, so sorry for the late reply! As for the alphabet, I jumped in straight away so I suspect Julia removed it from the comments to save confusion. HAd loved it when it came out but they are oh so expensive, but I had my birthday money this time. Thanks for the visit BJ#10
