WOYWW 396

Well, Christmas has been and gone for another year, New Year Resolutions have been made (and some broken already) by others but not by me and weight has been piled onto bodies leading to the inevitable "I am going to lose weight in 2017".

I had a lovely surprise over the holiday period when first of all I got Facetimed from America and saw most of the family in California, what a wonderful thing Facetime is.  Then the morning after I got a surprise telephone call from my sister in Australia.  Hurrah for technology and well done Karen for ringing me and reminding me it is your birthday on the 2nd January, by your call, not you mentioning it.

As she has had such a year of travelling around the vast country that she lives in I thought this card most appropriate for her and much more in my style than most cards I do.  Hope she did not find it too masculine.

Apart from making that card I have done nothing but play catch up in my journal but I cannot show you anything as each page goes on show on a Thursday.  So here is my desk as it stand this morning. I was hoping to get some painting done of my covers for files made from Amazon packets and also the prize I won ages ago which the people must think went to the most ungrateful woman ever.

This is a journal page which I have already published on my blog so it is fine to have it open here.  To the right you can see a magazine I picked up in the GP's surgery one day last week, resting on my Polychromos which I have been enjoying more than anything.  The magazine has a very pretty girl on the cover and she will no doubt get used in my journal before too long.

To the right (around the corner) is my dirty craft mat.  Well, rather than dirty it is well worn and covered in Gesso which will not wipe off.  Piled on it are various boxes and the prize I won all waiting to be painted and put to use.  There is a close up below:

Well, that is it for this week so I will pop along to see what the Queen of Deskers has to say, and then maybe follow a link or two to see what my friends are up to.  See you over there!  HNY!

Loved the card Neet...you are so clever.
You did better than me with crafting over Christmas....I did none apart from a little knitting. I'm back open for business this morning for the first time so let's hope the customers come flooding in eh?
Happy New Year with lots of fun and friendship.

Love the card Neet - it's vintagey rather than masculine. Do you mean to say you nicked that magazine from the surgery lol? I often wanted to tear out pages from magazines in waiting rooms, but never had the courage. I don't think anyone would even notice it! Will look out for those journal pages! zsuzsa #25

Helen, much better a dirty craft mat than a pristine never-used one! I noticed the "man stamps" - Tim H? They look interesting! Your birthday card is lovely, almost like a treasure map! Happy New Year! Lindart #37
