Morning! Another week with Ms Julia and the WOYWW'ers who visit her each week. Hope to see you over on her blog shortly.
There is nothing on my desk but this is to the right of my desk and might prove a bit interesting. At the top are a couple of pictures made on workshops, then a Finnabair one which has the Australian Flag hanging from it which was a gift from Shaz when she was over in Manchester. Below that is a horse picture I did myself similar to the kind of work Finn does. You will see the clock registers 4.20 and below that there is a picture of Henry Cavill, a bit of fun with a friend of mine.
The orange box top right is a box I decorated with things that remind me of my mum. and to the right of that there is a pencil pot that I made once with Liz Welch on one of our weeks away. On the cubby holes are my Dylusion Sprays, silk flowers and all manner of jars of stuff that I cannot remember what they are for (sounds familiar?) You can also see several Stampin' Up casssettes that my friend Mary has given me over the years. At the bottom are some books I have bought over the years - only a few of many.
Well, since last week we have celebrated Halloween, not quite on the same scale as in America if you live in the UK but it is certainly catching on. Did any of you see "Strictly" when they had their Halloween Theme this last weekend. Really enjoyed it and I loved the make up on some of the faces especially the Professional Dancer who partners Judge Rinder - her butterfly hair and face makeup was spectacular! As Brucie would have said "She was my favourite".
I feel as if I haven't been out in ages so on Monday we went for a drive in the country, I just wanted to see the beautiful Autumnal colours before it was too late and all the leaves dropped. One of the obvious places was to go to The Ribble Valley and so we set off and it was lovely driving along with the sun shining and all the glorious colours on the trees. We drove up through Sabden, around the back of Pendle Hill and on to Barley and Roughlee. Imagine my surprise as we drove down this long country lane and saw a witch, yes I said witch, bowling along merrily with two black balloons tied to her waist. We actually saw more of them as we carried on, afterall it was Halloween and we were in Pendle.
Here are some of the scare-bobs we saw
I was especially delighted to see, for my first time, the statue of Alice Nutter especially as she had been unveiled by non other than Bob Elliott of The Hollies four years ago - and I had no idea! I knew him in my teenage days when he played in a local Jazz Club.
Hope you saw some witches or had a trick or treat or two!

Love your description of what is in some of your jars :-) - sounds very familiar!!
We saw no witches, and shut the gate on what we call "lolly beggars" - some here don't even bother to dress up ... they just door knock and ask for sweets - a no go for us!
Blessings

Fun trip out! loved the glimpse of your wall, I had a good rummage.. Helen #?
I agree, it's wonderful to get out into the countryside in the Autumn and see the golden colours. Glad you managed a day out. Those scarecrows look like a fun find on your travels. P xx
What a lovely lot of work you have done well done, Love the Halloween pictures'

Looks like you've been enjoying the Halloween celebrations. I've got to be honest and say it spooks me a little and thankfully the only trick or treaters that came to our door was a gorgeous couple of twinnies that I'm rather fond of :-)
Hope it's a better week for you my friend.
Hugs,

Loved looking at the display to the right of your desk. We enjoyed the beautiful colours of Autumn on our ride to Matlock. What a lot you saw!!!! I did watch Strictly and agree re the makeup on Judge Rinder's partner - amazing. Anne x #20
I loved the Strictly make up too, think it was the best yet! Lovely pics of your tour around the area - it's not somewhere I terribly well, though my hubby came from near Warrington!
Have emailed you too....

Hi Neet, that wall of yours has so many wonderful memories, how lovely to be able to look at it and recall them all. great seeing you photos from Pendle, we have some friends who live near there too.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #22
Your crafty corner reminds me of a shrine for some reason - a sacred place! I've seen some of those scarecrow type things around here and in Somerset - I'm always a bit concerned that they might distract drivers along the road, but they are fun, nevertheless. Fascinating story about Alice - this whole witch hunting thing is so bizarre. I'm glad we don't live in the middle ages any more. Enjoy the autumnal colours - I wish they lasted longer - they'll be gone in a couple of weeks! zsuzsa #31
Love the collection of art and other goodies on your craft wall. Particularly like the art work on the top left corner. Have a lovely week.

Your Autumn-Halloween drive looks like fun! Beautiful countryside, interesting scare-bobs (I've never heard of that before!) We have some interesting sites here as well for Halloween, some people go WAY overboard on their decorations! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #41
A fascinating blog post this week, not least about Alice! Thank you for sharing. I'm willing to bet Alice is a Geocache so you might see me up there one day...
Have a lovely WOYWW

Lovely post, Neet. Love your wall of crafty stuff ... I have one similar here ... thoroughly enjoyed the Halloween photos. I lived so near Pendle for quite a few years and it is one of my regrets that I never visited the area. Perhaps a weekend next year. Hope your back is improving. Hope you have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #35
Yep, Henry seems a lorra fun to me! nice selection of artworks on the wall I must say, and I love that you have the same jars as me. as in, totally I looked at for so long I don't know what's in 'em. Ack! Fascinating drive out, glad you were able to cure the cabin fever on a nice day. Hope you're still taking things easy. Xxx
Our friends and neighbours have a caravan there Neet. It's a fabulous area. Glad you enjoyed your outing
Lynn xx
Great photos Neet. Pleased to hear that you've been able to get out and about and enjoy the autumn sunshine. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy crafty woyww, Angela x 19
I love how personalized your shelving is. So cool! Great pictures of your walk about too. Dorlene #46
Hi Neet, thanks for visiting my desk, and yes we will store some craft stuff at Margaret's but it looks as if we will not be going anywhere until after Christmas, which I am comfortable with.
I love your stack of memories beside your desk, it is good to have things like that which bring back memories of good times and nice people.
Bless you

Love your photos!!
Happy Belated WOYWW. I love that wall and had to make the photo bigger to have a good nose! Some really scary Halloween stuff. Imagine driving down there at night by yourself! We used to do a party when the stepkids were younger and staying with us, but nothing now except for a small pumpkin on the kitchen table (which I plan to make into chutney) - and no Trick or Treat around here, as we are 5 miles from the nearest big village. The local kids obviously don't want to walk around the dark/unlit muddy roads! Ali x #11
what great sites on your journey! Happy belated WOYWW donna #49
Mmm embedded comment boxes are not liked by mobile device and frequently freeze and close down, a pop up one is much friendlier.
Interesting post Neet, nice to see the flag and happy memories of that short time together.
Running bit late here....
Thanks for popping over and for sharing,
