So here is my desk
I am booked on the Andy Skinner weekend in Coventry (I know, and I have a bad back) so here I am making a half-hearted attempt to get some stuff ready and packed. This was actually my desk as at Tuesday teatime. I have wanted to do an Andy weekend for so long and it is all booked, paid for and arranged with a friend so I have to go.
Yesterday my physio/remedial masseur gave me some exercises to do every 30 minutes, unobtrusively, so that I should get through the two days of crafting. My friend, Lorraine, has suggested we take swimming costumes and go in the sauna/hot tub/water whatever and it might help me relax. Fingers crossed.
Later today I go for a thoracic x-ray so maybe we can find something out but I think it is probably arthritis to be honest. Remember 36 years ago I landed badly from a parachute jump, that probably set it all off.
Anyway, whinging over - do any of you remember this
It's a highlighter pen with three colours
Obviously I got it from Glenda back in the good old days when we used to meet up at Paddy's on workshops and things, or was it through something else? Have any of you got one?
Well, must go now as there are things to do with my being away for the weekend. Poor Chas will have to do all the final bits before the kitchen is started on the 11th July - at least I have cooked him three meals and put them in the freezer - he won't starve.
Off now to see Jan, our glorious deputy leader. It was wonderful to read the article about her dear dad on Facebook last week. What a guy he was to do what he did. Hats off to the family!
Love to Julia too - we all hope you are improving and getting stronger day by day - lovely to see you post last week - hard to read what you have been going through.
See you around everyone.

I do hope your back eases - nothing worse than having to put a bright face on things and soldier on! I remember but don't have, the highlighter pen. Have a great weekend. Helen #2

Oh, I am really sorry that your back is giving you grief Neet - I hope that the massage and hopefully hot tubs will help.
Thank you SO much for the great words about my dad, he was a character for sure. Blimey, I'm going to miss him.

I'm sorry to hear you are having back problems. The workshop might be a welcome distraction. And Lorraine is right, a hot tub/sauna/hot bath will help. Have a fabulous time and don't forget to take pictures. I'd love to see what you've been up to.
All the best with your back,
Happy WOYWW,

So sorry to hear your back is causing you so much pain and discomfort. I really hope the exercises help you to enjoy your weekend with Andy Skinner. I look forward to seeing what you create. Happy crafting, Max #23 :-)
Hi Neet, so sorry you are struggling with back pain, it's the worst I know. My lovely DIL has suffered from back pain through a spinal fusion( which got cracked when a driver rear ended her car a few years ago), and I know how much she suffers. She swears by a hot tub, by the way, so much so, they had one installed on their patio for her. I tried Margs( Silvercrafter, she's my DIL's Mum,lol) with paint a year or so ago, and it really didn't grab me at all, but I'm loving what I can get with Ink. I was really pleased with my brushes, and they work so well. And £6 for 4, as against £20 for the four Clarity brushes, lovely though they are, is a big difference! Enjoy your weekends crafting, look forward to hearing all about it. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #6 xxx
Hello Neet. I do hope your back feels better soon being in pain can be exhausting all on its own and I remember that highlighter as my daughter received one in Elementary school. Your get away sounds like such fun and to go with a friend is always the best part. Have a wonderful week and feel better soon. Thanks for visiting my blog earlier Hugs ~ Anne L#4
I hope you have a speedy recovery & can enjoy your weekend with Andy. Blessings, Donna #9
I hope your back doesn't stop you enjoying the weekend (you lucky girl) Quite like the idea of unobtrusive excercise - sorry, giggling as I imagine you throwing a large cape around your shoulders!! I do have a highlighter pen like that but it was a freebie from an education show - can't lay my hands on mine but guess they were a promotional thing - must have been late 90's! Hugs, Chrisx 37

Aw Neet, your words of encouragement and support have meant so much to me, like sunburst on a dark day. I really hope your weekend isn't too uncomfortable in the face of such marvellous company, I am very sorry for you, a bad back is something you just can't ignore. Do whatever you have to. Perhaps you need me to come over and walk up and down your spine?!!!
Hot tub is a great idea and DH swims almost daily and he says it helps. Love Andy Skinner and still have a great lot of techniques when I did his online course. Hope you have a great weekend.

Bummers you're suffering back issues, Neet. I do sympathize. yes, once we bump something and think nothing of it at the time, the injury usually catches up to us somewhere down the road. I hope you can enjoy your weekend. Sounds like a Fab time! I vouch for the pool/ sauna at every opportunity. No worries if you do not get to me this week. I owed you a stop from a couple weeks ago :-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #32
Oh back pain is really hard to take! Can you take anti-inflammatories to take the edge off? BTW, Andy Skinner did a tutorial on Wanderlust earlier. Have you seen it?
Hope the workshop is good and you manage to enjoy it anyway.
Just a quicky to say a huge thankyou for my super fun card... I love those wacky birds! Love the background paste "ridges" too!
I've been out all day and realise you will be away this weekend so will catch up after the W/end. Take it easy and I hope your back troubles hold up for your course.
Lots of love Jo x
As someone with a permanent back condition (I have Scoliosis) I can empathise totally and hope your back pain is eased soon. Sending you healing hugs. Sorry I'm late, not been so good, now dashing round and catching up! Take care Zo xx 29
