WOYWW 361

Nothing to show I am afraid.  We are planning a new kitchen and trying (I am very trying some would say) to 'cull' the current crockery, glassware, cutlery etc etc in the existing one.  Lots when you consider I am sentimental and have things that belonged to my mum, my aunt, his mum and his aunt plus a caravan that was fully equipped.  For some reason this 'culling' has spread to other rooms and books were delivered to the local charity shop this morning, there are boxes with glassware in under my table in the utility room and piles of clothes in the conservatory.  So, no surprise when you see that my desk contains some masks that have been hanging around elsewhere but now are to take their place in my craftroom.

The cream one was bought in Venice (lost its stick), the blue one was one I made at CHA and the gorgeous white one was a gift from Brenda Abdoyan at CHA one year.  She is a very talented lady.

There are also some clay pieces which I had drying (leeching) on a piece of paper because I was thinking the other day that they were air dry clay.  I now realise they want to go in the oven - polymer clay! Doh!

Well, that is it from me for this week - short and sweet like Julia likes it to be.  Pop along to her blog and see what she has to offer and if you leave it until about 10 am you will have a few desks to view.

Next week I hope to bring some pictures of Shaz (Silverwolf) and her gorgeous hubby as we are scheduled to meet up at Port Sunny on Saturday.  Whoo Hoo - can't wait!

It can be hard to get rid of stuff we are attached to but once it's done you'll realize the memories are always with the stuff is just stuff. You can always snap a picture of it good luck with the purge hugs Nikki? ?

You have been soooo busy I am not surprised you haven't been able to craft! Those masks look gorgeous and I have to confess, I giggled at your clay mishap! It's just the sort of thing I would do! xxx

Culling is a word I should add to my vocabulary and after trying to find something in the cupboard of our welsh dresser in the kitchen at weekend that would be a good place to start. You may have just planted a much needed seed there Neet.

Good morning, Neet. All the very best with the culling!!! We have just gone through our cutlery - and yes, it's difficult. Especially as we often need up to 30 settings-worth for when the church descend... Have a fantastic time at Port Sunlight - please give our love to Shaz and Doug. Enjoy.
Take care. God bless.

Oh, you'll love Shaz and Doug, they're wonderful people!! Hope you have fun at the show :-)
I'm very much a family person and extremely sentimental but not about possessions...I keep very little stuff but know how hard it is to get rid of things. I think de cluttering is cathartic...hope it goes well.

Oh Neet, what lovely masks, I do hope they are not going to a charity shop. I know that feeling of having to part with precious things, we are having to deal with those emotions too.
Have a wonderful day at Port Sunny on Saturday.

Try moving houses from a large 4 bedroomed house to a two bed bungalow Neet....you soon learn how to be strict when it comes to finding new homes for things you dont need :-) Give Shax a hug from me when you meet up and have one yourself too :-)
Hope you have a great week.

Happy WOYWW. Neat masks. And good luck with the culling - personally I'd be able to let go of the cookery stuff before the books. Says the woman who just decided to hold onto a set of mixing bowls she has no need for because they belonged to an aunt and were identical to ones my Mom used to have. So what do I know. Have a good week. Susanne #29

Hi Neet! I had to miss last week! Getting rid of unwanted stuff is so cleansing! We did it last year when we thought we were going to move. I sold what I could on eBay, the rest of it went to the charity shop or the dump. We got rid of a huge amount of stuff. Happy culling - you'll feel so much better afterwards! zsuzsa #32

Lovely masks. Good luck with the new kitchen and the clearing out. I have trouble getting rid of stuff especially if someone gave it to me. I finally learned that I had to be selective about the things I accepted from family members!

I don't envy you the clearout as I too am trying to clear my dining room and living room to enable them to be decorated. Time too is the problem as I never seem to be in to get anything done and i'm sure you are the same. Good luck.

Such lovely, lovely masks. My husband bought one for our daughter while he was in New Orleans for work one year. To have them made or to make them is even more fantastic. Happy Wednesday, LisaDV 36

Hi Neet, You mean to say you haven't even watched any of the Wanderlust videos yet??? They're fabulous! Stop all that tidying business, you know it will only need doing again, all too soon :)
Have a good day with Shaz.

Oh dear, culling is so hard... and I can see why these masks couldn't be allowed to simply leave. I'm sure you can find a use for them. Good luck with the rest of the culling, the planning and the kitchen!
