WOYWW 343

For the better or worse?  That is the question.  See my post below (copied from our dear Shaz in Oz's blog) - I can only see it being of any use to them and not to us.  I have taken a photo of my friends as it stands on my page at present and I will be adding it to my side bar or something so that it is a reminder of what used to be.  Not sure if any have disappeared prior to this warning but will try to take photos of all the followers.

Still, there are worse things at sea as they say.  My heart goes out to all those people affected by the floods and I wish there was something I could do.  Just read that some of the homes in York have been looted whilst the folks were away.  What scum we have in society!

Nothing to show on my desk - it is exactly the same as last week so, as I did not show you the tree (read on someone's blog Julia wanted us to) am rectifying that today:

As I was so busy in the lead up (never again - churches) Chas decorated the tree so I suggested he only put the baubles and lights on - makes it easier to pull down as we are taking it down early this year.

btw Jan/Annie/Jo I made those curtains when we first moved into this house.  The fabric is the same as the settee was made of and it took a lot of courage to cut up and match up - but I did it (after unrolling it and rolling it up again for about 6 months!)

This was the table just the four of us - we had crackers, fabric or knitted hats (the men had knitted ones because we ladies had ear rings in our bags) and gift bags which went down a storm with Andy's partner Sam.  Wish I had photographed the turkey, it looked really good, just a perfect colour (but I am sick of eating turkey now).

A nest of tables with nibbles on

and a trolley with sweeties. nuts etc
chocolates and biscuits underneath

In the goody bag there were moustaches amongst all the other things and so here we are all sporting them

Starting top left - Picasso, Chaplin, Hogan, Einstein.

Happy New Year to you all and may it be a good one for Julia and all WOYWW members past and present.

Thoughts and Prayers are with those who are suffering with the floods and those who are ill or nursing someone who is.

You certainly look as though you had a good time. We had my mum and dad over and we took them home yesterday so I am really ready for the rest. Some of the info coming through re. the floods is not good reading. Here in Lincoln we are very low but thank goodness they seem to manage the water better as we have lots of floodplains. Take care and have Happy New Year for when it arrives. Big hugs, Angela x 16

Well Neet, firstly may I say how clever you are making those curtains...they don't look straightforward. I'm in awe, the very thought of curtain sewing makes my eyes twitch!! The second thing is that you may well be sick of little paper churches but the recipients adore them so thank you for all the time and effort involved.
And thirdly, I love your nibbles selection (and I didn't think I'd be writing THAT this morning, lolol!!)
Hope 2016 is full of good things for you, lovely lady, you deserve them :-)
Hugs, LLJ 8 xxx

The tree looks amazing, Neet, as does the table all set for Christmas dinner. I love your goofy photo too - think that's a quintessentially British thing to do on Christmas day! Wishing you all the best for 2016! zsuzsa #24

Your tree looks beautiful. The floods are dreadful indeed - we travelled home from Yorkshire on Boxing Day - no actual floods where we were but the road had a lot of water and it was poring down one of the hillsides onto the road. My heart goes out to all affected. Happy New Year Anne x #17

Good job on the tree...I hope you didn't then spend a few minutes each evening rearranging stuff?!! Despite the churches, your Christmas looked wonderful, lovely touches of detail and gifting.

Wow - your tree is amazing, and it looks as though you've all been enjoying the festivities. Very cross about the Blogger thing... will also share the bad news after Christmas in the hopes of stemming the loss of followers and friends.

Wishing you a wonderful 2016!

Hi Neet, I had lost 6 followers which puzzled me lots until I read your previous post. When something works well already why meddle - only Blogger knows. And I'm shocked to learn that flood victims houses have been looted - only scum would do that! Enjoyed your Christmas photos - especially the one of you sporting a moustache :) Happy New Year to you and yours. Elizabeth x #37

What great photos, Neet. Your house looked just brilliant all decked out. I don't think I've taken any photos this year of the decorations - hasn't been top priority - boo hoo - but I do love to deck out the whole place - something in every room. Takes ages to take down....
Thanks for the visit and for your prayers for us. John is really doing very well, although he is finding it hard to believe! Considering he has had three crashes in three weeks, it was a pretty risky manouever to allow him home over the holidays - but I reckon it was worth it! A truly blessed Christmas. Just the two of us, then the family arrived and have gone back home today - 11 of us in the bungalow!!!
Take care. God bless.

Looks like good fun was enjoyed by all... love those tashes too. We enjoyed our time in the Lakes and it was wonderful to see the true grit of the people as they strove to get their lives back to normal. We were encouraged not to cancel as they needed the visitors and it was worth the trip. We were, however, devastated that they had to face it again with the next phase of floods.
Have fun with Mary and we'll get together soon.
Love Jo x
