We are hoping to finish off our trip to Liverpool but it will be to the hotel we just had the one night in (four beds) but this time with a walk in shower - can't wait.
Enough of that - here is a card I made for a friend's birthday - a bit of card candy to lighten the load?
Well, this week I have still been in my black and white mood so here is my desk which has the cut out pieces for a 'Crealies' card on it - well two actually. The circular one was fine, the square one drove me nuts. I cut the wrong colour of pieces out to begin with so had to do them again. A bit like doing a jigsaw puzzle putting these together. It's still not stuck down and won't be until later this afternoon as I have a couple of appointments.
Breathing has been bad recently (medication changes) so it is a trip for a Spirometer test and then my new glasses want adjusting as they are making my ears sore, so that comes first today.
Hopefully I will show you the completed cards by next week but yesterday I just wanted to leave them alone until I could get the borders even and the pieces lined up correctly. Got ideas for what I am finishing off with but that could change if it doesn't work out. What is in my head and what transpires are often different things.
In the meantime I suggest you go over to Julia's to see what she has to say and then follow a few links for a good old snoop. See you!
Later: It's now 2.15 pm and look what is on my desk now. Did a quick sweep of the black and white to the left and here is my new toy. This is what I am dem'ing at Leigh Show for Oyster Stamps on the last Sunday of this month.

Now to PLAY!!

Nice busy desk, Neet, and I love the card - such subtle colouring and that beautiful flower. Sorry for the adventure at the Liverpool hotel and the noise.
Hope you get your breathing problem undeer control and get those pesky glasses fixed!
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi (no number yet)
That's a shame your last night was so loud from the drunks next door wrecked your last nite in the hotel and I agree I wouldn't want to stay there another two nights regardless of what they said.
Your card us so pretty with that big flower have a wonderful week hugs Nikki???
Blak and white is interesting.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip when you make it! the card looks fabulous, and I will enjoy seeing your black and white masterpiece soon! Helen 3
Hi Neet. I hope your breathing improves soon and you get the new glasses to fit better....there is nothing worse is there? I'm always a little annoyed with new glasses until they settle in. :-)
Hugs,

I just checked back on your last post to read about those horrible people making all that noise. I am so sorry this happened to you. Looking forward to seeing those completed cards.

Gorgeous birthday card you have made. I'm sorry your trip was spoiled by an unhelpful hotel!

Love the black and white style of your cards. Hope it all comes together for you lol. Good luck with your appointments this morning. Hope they get your breathing sorted. Finally, that is one gorgeous mixed media card, especially the flower. I love the darker tips on the petals. P xxx
Oh blimey, hope the test goes well and can point the way to helping your breathing....meds can be a bane as well as a blessing sometimes.
I normally prefer monochrome stuff to coloured, but I didn't like the patterns of the cut outs on your desk. They made me feel jangly. I think it's cos they're not symmetrical....aren't I weird??? Lol

Wow, sounds like your trip was a disaster. No, I didn't see the post, but I'll go as soon as I leave a comment here. I guess I'm a bit the same way. Things I imagine in my head OFTEN don't turn out the same or even similar! Hope your week is good and you figure out how to straighten the pieces correctly.
BTW, Bleubeard is waving with his paw and telling me to come to bed. Guess it's that time. Happy WOYWW from #2.
Wow Neet, your card is stunning, I love that daisy flower (think I have that die...) and the colours are wonderful.
So sorry to hear about the breathing being bad, hope it gets sorted out soon!! Take care my friend! Hugs, Anne xx
Everything in my head is completely different to what I turn out on my desk. Looking forward to seeing those geometric pieces turn into cards. Have a lovely week.

Hi Neet, do hope you get your medication sorted. This last year, since the radiotherapy, I've found out what breathing difficulties are like, and it's not nice at all.
Love the Crealies dies, haven't got any but I do keep looking at them, then wondering how easy they are to actually layer up-I suspect it's like most things, gets easier with practice. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 xxx
We seem to be twins this week - I also have been having trouble with my breathing, going back up to my Advair 500 from 250, and I also have new glasses, but will have to go and get my eyes re-checked I think, things just aren't right. Apart from that, you Birthday card looks great! Lucky recipient! Your new toy looks awesome, however I have no idea what it is! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #50
Best of luck with the tests - hope they soon get you bakc on track. I love the colour combo in your card at the top. x Jo
Nothing worse than battling to breathe. Hope it gets sorted very soon.
That looks like the coolest new toy. Enjoy playing.
Happy WOYWW!

Loved your Liverpool posts- We definatly will look into the titanic hotel. Hope your meds are sorted. Do have fun with the new machine :) xx Soojay 23
Thank you for your sweet comment, Neet - so encouraging! My silver lining is indeed very close now - less than 2 months away! I just know all is going to be well. I feel incredibly up beat despite being totally pooped all day but that's what always happens during the first week after a treatment. I am so glad you like what I did for Shaz - her response has been overwhelming and completely made my day!!

I would think people would be smarter than to give bad customer service, but apparently not. Looks like a lovely trip otherwise. Lovely crafty space! Happy WOYWW!
ooh I love the colors on the floral card :) ~Stacy #52
I hope your breathing is better now and the medication adjusted.
Your geometrical cards are great. I suppose it was a bit like a jigsaw puzzle....
Well, I have no idea what your new toy is. The box looks interesting but it doesn't say on the box what it is.... Please tell us soon!
Thanks for visiting earlier,
Have a great week,
Lisca
Many thanks for the visit to mine. Not long till Newark show again so hope to see you there. I have some of the Crealies dies but not used them yet. Hope you get the glasses and breathing sorted soon. Have a good woyww and happy crafting, Angela x23
Hi Neet, I read your post yesterday and then wanted to go read all about your trip....wow, some rude annoying people about aren't there, but I'm glad you're going back to discover more of the sights at Liverpool. A fab collection of holiday photos, very interesting place. I do love your blue daisy card - wish I could do that free flow arty thing but tackling that Crealies card you can have to yourself. Thanks for visiting and have wonderful week Cheers RobynO#18
Hi, Neet,
Happy WOYWW and thanks so much for already dropping by! How nice for your friend to be planning a trip to Bali! If she's planning to do some shopping, she has to sharpen her bargaining skills! Some sellers offered the fans for Rp100,000 and I finally bought them for RP10,000! They have a lot of jewelry that they will say is sterling silver (it is marked ".925") and they will offer it for RP250,000 when you can actually buy it for Rp25,000 (too cheap for sterling silver)!
The card you made is lovely, with all the layering and textures.
I hope you feel better soon. Enjoy your new toy!
Hugs, peggy aplSEEDS
Acht, I thought I had hit publish on the comment I wrote lol. And oooo a Minc! I am such a closet magpie (though you wouldn't know it to look at me : D). That is ridiculous customer service, especially when it's already been mentioned in a review. But your trip to Liverpool looked fabulous, I had no idea there was so much to do there.
Thanks for the lovely comment on my cards. The short answer to the paper is it came that way lol. But I think a simlar effect could be gained by stamping white zigzags (or clear heat embossing powder on white cardstock) and then blending inks over them (or watercolors). Or maybe blending inks/watercolors and then using the minc over it for some shiny fun?
And the pop ups are basically a circle (folded in half) with a die cut partially cut before the fold is put in (or gluing a second die cut over it to cover the fold lol). Then the pop-up support is about the distance between the bottom of the partial die cut and the fold (and is attached to the back of the partial die cut). Let me know if that makes sense lol.
Hope all is well with your breathing. I've been to the hospital (but always as a catch and release) a couple of times for asthma, it's just not fun #59
I love that card. I think the background is so nice and just perfect with the flower.
Thanks for stopping by earlier, much appreciated.

Great looking card and looks like you're set for some crafting with new goodies.
Well, I do hope you made sure your Crealies were in safe place firs,t Neet, but a lovely new toy, what fun
Am sorry that you have no been well and pray that your breathing settles down and becomes more stable.. medication is great in that it keeps us going but can be a pain, too.. may God bless you in it all, dear friend.
