Anyway, you came for my desk and here it is - it's Tuesday bedtime and won't change before tomorrow. Don't forget to visit all the other desks after seeing what our Queen of Desks has on hers. Mind you, as it is April 1st tomorrow I am sure Julia will have something up her sleeve. We could all be linking up at some ridiculous time or maybe she will leave Mr Linky out on purpose. I am sure there will be lots of fun on lots of blogs to lead us astray.
My lovely friend in America wrote and asked if I could help her with one of the scenes on the Oil, Smudge video that is on the internet. Well, so far, no luck. Yes, I do realise what you do and I wrote and asked if I was going about it in the right way and Carol Foldvary Anderton wrote back and said I was. Guess it just needs lots of practice.
So that is what is on my desk. Another attempt but next one is going to be done on that yellow card on the left as Carol had done hers on that colour and I think I am being misled with the white card I am using. Too many are in the bin. Katy Koala has come for a nosey and poor Monkey is trying so hard to reach her but he won't come down in case he gets his robe dirty.
There's some green lace and paper back left - I took that from some flowers I got for my birthday and now I am going to make a Thank You card for the person who sent them to me - with the lace as a background.
As I said it has been bitterly cold but the central heating has been on all day again so I got changed out of my jeans and sweater and put my burgundy salwar kameez on. The trousers are the salwar and the top is the kameez. They are so easy to wear around the house and I love comfort. My other one is navy blue and both have huge shawls to wear with them but I don't bother around the house.
I just love wearing them and the embroidery is gorgeous, well I think so. I picked them up in the Asian Bazaar in Nelson last year when I went with Jo. They were not at all expensive, really surprised me, and there were some fabulous ones to choose from.
Right, off to bed now to read my latest book. I really am turning into a real bookworm since Chas bought me a Kindle.

What a great outfit! And now my list of things to research has grown - oil smudge? Hummm...Could it be the old Club Scrap oil pastels with baby oil smearing, I wonder?
{sigh} off to google...
Happy WOYWW and I'm not fooling'!

One of the joys and frustrations of art is that you only start succeeding at it after lots (& I mean LOTS) of practice. Keep at it and I'm sure the smudge technique will come. The joy will be in finally mastering it, knowing how much trial and error and practice you put into it. Stay warm ,it's another cold day out there. I'd stay in bed and carry on reading your Kindle lol
I have a feeling we have more cold to come Neet before the sunshine really warms things up for us so keep the winter drawers handy yet ;-) I love that outfit on you....so flattering.

Oooh, you're a fortune teller! Mr Linky did go AWOL, but Julia wouldn't have done that on purpose, it causes too much grief!
I think you've had worse weather than us. The winds were horrendous for the past couple of days, I'm goad that our big tree and fence have survived without damage so far...phew.
And you look like a lady out of 1001 Nights, love it :-)
Hugs, LLJ 4 xx
Ah, the salwar kameez is just wonderful. gorgeous. And who wouldn't be comfortable. Although.. in our house, to combat cold I recommend slippers! Isn't it frustrating when you can't get a technique to work like you think it should..and then the practice time eats up other time and argh...I just want to be good at it straight away. Which is why I don't play golf!
Lots going on in your world! I love the outfit; it looks very comfy!

Oh my what a great outfit and yes they are comfortable I have one similar and love it too, so much space to move around in. Good luck with the new technique this is one that I have not tried, it does sound interesting and I am sure you are going to nut it out as they say practice makes perfect. Do stay warm nothing worse than being cold. I hope you have a wonderful Easter and the bunny brings you lots of eggs. Nothing like a good book to curl up with and read for hours. I'm a bit of a book worm or should I say Ipad reader gave the kindle to daughter.
Happy WOYWW

I think considering it's April the 1st things seem pretty normal. The weather though is all over the place, one minute rain then wind and then bright sunshine, crazy.
Have a happy woyww, Angela x 29
Hi Neet! So long since I dropped by, I need to get myself sorted out and start making things before I forget how! Love the outfit, looks very pretty and comfortable.. though I would want socks on... bit chilly for sandals!! Happy WOYWW, Annette #22
In Ontario, Canada, at least in my small part of it, March came and left like a lamb. A bit of lion in between, but not much! I love your slawar kameez - it does look very comfortable! I love my kindle too, and lately I've been adding free mysteries from Book Bub - nothing like free! Enjoy-Thanks for sharing! Lindart #51
Love that salwar kameez ~ just beautiful!
And enJOY that oil smudging ~ whatever it is!
Hi Neet, I'll have to have a look at that oil smudge video. I did something similar, but just smudged it with my fingers and thumb, without the oil bit. Sounds interesting. I'm really using my tablet a lot too for reading, I still really love to have a book in my hands, but the tablets are so useful. Really struggling today, am round late, had to go to Docs, got a rotten chest infection thats not clearing. Thought it was going after last week, but its come back with a vengeance. Now have another lot of anti-biotics, and steroids to take for a week. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz xx #37
Gorgeous embroidery on your tunic, I bought something similar in tangiers that I wear after my shower in the evening, very comfy for lazing around

That outfit looks so comfy for lounging around the house in, yet too elegant to feel like pajamas. The smudging looks interesting and you've some nice tries set off to the side. You'll master it yet! Judy #60
beautiful attire
Thanks for sharing, Happy WOYWW

I love my Kindle. I bought one before going to Spain as I could not take my books with me. In the end we have had to buy another one as my hubby and I were fighting over it. The second one is on the same account so I can buy 99p books from Amazon and then let him read the books I think he likes. I've never read so many books in my life!
Your salwar kameez looks really comfy. I must look out for one when I come to the UK next month. Thanks for that great idea.
Have a great week and Happy Easter!

Yes you were right with March being a lion. We had snow storms the whole day! Terrible. Your robe is very pretty and should be worn out of the house to show it!

Your desk looks quite tidy! I love your Salwar Kameez, it looks very comfy - but if you are cold you should have some woolly socks on! Hugs, Anne xx
Wow, love your salwar kameez! xxx
