WOYWW 250 (don't forget to sign up for the give away on the post above)

If you intend signing up for the TH die can I please ask that you do it under the blog above which is solely for it as I can't be relied on to remember all the names of those who want to be included if they are in several places.  Hopefully those who wanted to sign up last week (WOYWW 249) have been mentioned in the blog blurb above.

Well Julia and all you fellow WOYWW'ers - we are at the quarter mark of a millenium.  Congratulations Julia!  That is fantastic to have so many people joining in week by week.  Well done Ma'am!

So here is what I am on about - my desk.  or my workdesk to be precise.  In my craft room there was one tidy space as I have begun the mammoth clearing up ... again.  But ... that was not meant to be for I opened a bag to find all these pages tumbling out from a book I had, made for me by a talented friend Jayne, a while ago when it was one of my birthdays.  Nope they have not been arranged for the camera, this is how they arranged themselves on the counter.

It was a magnificent book with messages and photographs Jayne had collected from my friends over in America.  There is so much work in it and it has been on display on a small table for years but once it started falling to bits I polythene bagged it and now I am going to have to do something with it.  Not saying I will get it exactly as Jayne did but when I have finished it I will show you all (my friend Lorraine is coming today so she can help me - LOL).

Because of the tidying up my dining table has become my temporary workdesk as I just wanted to play with the box maker boards I was dem'ing at weekend for a short while after dinner.  Only had time to do a couple of the candy box ones, three of the square boxes and just cut out a gift bag but not put it together as yet.  The pillow box is still waiting to be unpacked.

The purple and the two cream ones are the square boxes and the candy wrappers are at the back made from an old magazine that I had been saving because I liked the picture.  Knew it would come in handy one day - it is the perfect weight of card for these.  The one on the printed instructions is the gift bag made from scrap book paper.

I want to make lots more and decorate them for the next show I am at which is the one in Leigh (between Wigan and Bolton) the first weekend in April.  If you are not doing anything why not pop along and say "hello" - Note: free tea/coffee with pre-booked tickets.

I hope you and your friend get that book fixed. I've had that happen to me, too. It's not a pleasant sight or thought.

Your little boxes look great. Even Bleubeard wants one, but I'm sure he has his reasons (grin). Happy WOYWW from #2.

It looks like you are ready to create one big collage with all the stuff that fell off and out of your book pages. Good luck getting it all sorted out nicely. I'm sure you'll do it justice getting it back in place. The boxes look pretty neat and I'll bet are not too difficult to make. Judy #89

Hi Neet - on first look your room/desk looks remarkably like mine........but at least you have an excuse!!! lol I've been jumping from one project to another and not getting very far at all, mostly cause I keep losing things which miraculously turn up half an hour later when I've given up looking!!! Can't wait to see what you do with Jayne's lovely book. I've actually been using the envelope punch board to make lots of boxes and bags this afternoon so we are obviously on the same wavelength! Wouldn't you know it eh? lol See you're going to the SY at Leigh...........any chance of coming down to the Taunton one in June????? Pretty please?

Hugs.

What a great collection of goodies on your desk this week, Neet! Lovely muted vintage colours, too. Sorry not to be part of WOYWW again this week but I've not been too well and the only opportunity I've had to spend any time in my ARTHaven (yesterday afternoon) was spent entirely in trying to get my sewing machine working - without success, so it's now gone in for repair.

Have a good week.

Thanks for your visit and comment, Neet - so glad you like my Zentangled teabag stains! I've got so many ideas for the teabag art that I'll never attempts them all in one lifetime! Who'd have thought so much inspiration could come from such a humble object that most people just throw away?

Hopefully I'll be feeling better next week. I'm beginning to feel a bit frustrated, having such a beautiful room waiting for me upstairs, and unable to use it as much as I would like!

I had LONG hair for many years, but it is a veritable weed! I have cut it many times and it grows out fast! I cut it this short in Feb when I found a brilliant hairdresser as my hair is a handful when short cos it is thick. I colored the pink in Dec when I lost my best friend Claire to breast cancer. I am going to keep up with the pink as it is fun and a great conversation piece and makes people smile! I also use it to remind myself to live each day to the full!

Hi Neet!
Sorry I have been away for such a long time - I had a good snoop around your blog and enjoyed looking at all the lovely things you have been making lately! I hope you are well! I missed your birthday but I guess that is just one day in the year and I wish you all the best all of the time! :-)
Have a lovely week,
Lots of hugs,
Cardarian
