This is my circular card for the "Fur or Feathers" challenge, chosen by me on the Artful Times Blog this time. The image is one of my little dog, Oliver, a Cavalier King Charles who is no longer with us. It does not make me sad, it makes me smile as I remember all the happy times we had.
It was a competition run by a stamp making company in America who wanted photographs of your pets. I had this charming photo of Oliver and so I sent it up - imagine my delight when I heard I had won first place - and two rubber stamps were to be made from the photograph and I would get an artists drawing too. This is using the smaller of the two stamps (that has the words on as shown) and I made a small circular card with my Spellbinders die and my Grand Calibur to mount him on.
I also made one for the "feathers" part of the challenge and here is my bird card:
This is a tri-card with a bird stamped behind the aperture which was first of all coloured with my Pan Pastels and then coloured in with watercolours. A tag was stuck on and then a Candi, over the hole in the tag, completed it.

Awww Neet he is so cute and what a fab idea to have a stamp made of him. I think Fraz has way too much fur for me to get that done!!!

A wonderful theme Neet :) Love your examples & what a sweet story about Oliver & the stamp competition. :) Pxx
Hello Neet, how fabulous to win the competition and to have Oliver imortalised on a stamp. Both cards are beautiful but I love the one with Oliver because it is such a lovely story. Crafty hugs, Anne x
Beautiful cards Neet. I love them both and could not choose a favourite. Hugs Rita xx
I do not possess fur on a stamp, I just realised! How strange! Mind, I've got more birds than a gal can use really, so if I'm still in the zone on Sunday, I may have a crack at this!
Love both of these cards Neet and also love that you won a competition to get a special stamp of your beautiful spaniel.
Best Wishes from Chrissie xx
Aww he is so cute too and what a wonderful memento of your dog :)

Hi Neet, wonderful cards, a cutie of a dog and what a beautiful memory. Good thing you won this competition, which was a very good idea and project in the first place. I'm much more a dog person than a cat person, too :-) had one once, but at the moment I wouldn't be able to do one justice with family, work and all the things going on ... when the (three, 4, almost 9, 10 yrs) kids are older and things quieter I'm sure we'll get another one.
I also want to thank you so very much for joining my blog and your wonderful and nice comment on it, enjoyed it especially and all the more coming from you.
Hugs, Suzanne xx
What brilliant cards, Neet. That is so awesome that you won a competition to get a special stamp of Oliver!! He really is the definition of cute!
Hi Neet, both really gorgeous cards especially your little dog Oliver so beautiful. I also love that it is circular. Hugs Sandra XXX
Oh Neet, how lovely is that? Well done you for having two stamps of your own little cutie and as you say, when you look at it you don't feel sad, you smile. I have a pastel and watercolour of my last dog and I feel the same as you when I look at it.
The card is beautiful, elegantly simple and needs nothing further because the image does it all helped along by the sentiment. The bird card is very pretty and delicate.
I don't think I have any stamps with 'fur' but quite a few birds of various kinds so I'd best get those out!
Have a great week,
Juliaxx
