WOYWW and a WOYWW Meet Up

Well, later on this morning I am going to Manchester to meet up with four other WOYWW'ers.  We are meeting at Cafe Nero on Market Street so that if the weather is not being kind to us we can all be in the warmth until we are all present and correct.  From there we are off to the Northern Quarter for a spot of lunch, a look at the Gallery and then up to Affleck's Palace for a mooch around and on to Fred Aldous to see what crafty objects they have in their newly furbished store.

Now what have I to show you?  A lovely clean area in my craft room - no green mat as I have been playing with my polymer clay - unbelievable how clean my room is.  Spot that things have moved.

See, the carousel is back and all the pots and things from in front of the cubby holes on the right have now been moved and are housed in a "dead corner" of my worktop.

This little blue container had definitely to go from its position in the window sill as, on Sunday, when I reached in for my Alcohol Inks this is what happened.  After two days spent in my craft room sorting it out -  this went down like a lead balloon.

My diecut station has moved to its new position by the door (the chair that was there has now been donated to my other half for his computing at the other end of the bungalow - he lasted one day down there but the chair and desk remain) and you can now see the endless aprons and tee-shirts I have for workshops hung by the door.  My "inspiration wall" has been tidied too.

Why?  What has sparked all of this off - well, it's my new shelves - a unit (?) in fact.  Want to peep?

I now need two more of those racks to hang my other MS punches on.  Starting from the bottom we have my metal tools, moulds and materials, also some worksheets (need sorting) and paints in two big silver tins.

Next up are three nappy boxes, remember when we all started out with those when first crafting?  These now house some sewing things.  Moving up again we have my spray paints (and booth) embossing folders, TH dies, and two tins of Charms and Embellishments.  The next two shelves hold my tins of unmounted stamps - can you spy the STILL unfinished suitcases on top of the red one at the end!  On top are my sorted boxes of worksheets and at the end some colour coordinated stuff in the small boxes.

Because the printer had to go there it has freed some space for my tag collection, and my TH inspired mirror and you can just see some Grand Nesties hanging from the shelf which is out of shot.

Remember the odd shape on my desk last week?  You can see some of my Jewel Goddess creations here and here but there are more to come - just keep running out of time.  Someone said it looked like the sole of a shoe - guess what?

It made it!  Took my first three "makes" to Tracey at Oyster Stamps - hope she sells lots of this die now.

I might show you some more next week but nothing new and maybe not as tidy.  In the meantime go and have a nosey around other desks that are gripped in the fever started by the Wonderful, Most Gracious Lady of Desks, Julia at The Stamping Ground.  Get a cuppa and prepare to spend time, it's fascinating!

Thanks for sharing your now tidy desk with us. It is looking good; lots of room to play. Bummer about the blue container dropping its contents all over the place. What a mess. I had a tin of tins once that I kept eyelets in. One drop to the carpet is all that took me to change my mind on that. Some storage containers just aren't all that. Love, love LOVE the new shelving and OMG--towel racks on the SIDE of a bookcase! I totally can do that. I have the perfect dead space / side of the a bookcase to do that. I can even drive a screw myself. I'm so there!!!

Just back for an in depth snoop and what a transformation. It was a very desirable work desk before but now you have freed up so much desk space for hands on crafting. It looks so good and thanks for a fab snoop after a fab day out.
