Favourites?

When I was a little girl (yes, I can remember so far back at times) I used to ask my mum "what is your favourite colour?" and could never understand when she said she didn't have one.  At that time of my life everyone had to have a favourite everything.  So I think I had slipped back years (no comments please) when I decided to ask you all to use your "Favourite" stamp for this week's challenge.

Then I realised it was not so easy to choose your favourite stamp - but I did find it easy to choose a favourite one.  This is mine.  It is a stamp I have wanted for ages and finally have bought.  I love this era and was delighted when I found this stamp had my name on it - well, almost.  Long story but "Nita" was what all my college friends shortened my name to but then it got further shortened to "Neet" in the card making world because of someone joining a Yahoo group a month after me with the same name, Nita.  Therefore I answer to Anita, Neet and Nita depending on who is talking to me. So now you all know the story - too long to go into all the other names I have because I also have a middle name which my family know me by.  Complicated or what!!

I used my Grand Calibur to cut out the main shape of the card and then just went down a notch with my layers.  A few flowers and a bit of feather and it was all complete.  So here it is, my entry for this week's challenge over on JFF.  Hope you can find a favourite to join in with - see you over there!

I could never pick ONE favourite stamp either - it all depends on my mood... Love your card though - very elegant (just like you I am sure!) and the story behind your name too!

Oh Neet, what a beautiful card! My mum is called Anita too! She was named after her grandmother so it goes way back in our family - my sister's first name is Anita too, but she goes by her middle name to save confusion in the family. "Little Anne" in Spanish! Lovely.

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog! Sorry to hear you've returned from your hols with a cold - that's miserable, and I hope you're soon over it. In addition to the chicken grit I've also decided to use some cat litter in my art! Whaaat? she says??? Well, I'll try anything!!!

I managed to get myself up this a.m. (that's a miracle in itself lol!) and I had the most awesome time with the group - what a welcome I received, and how lovely they all were, and the session went really well, and I can't have blotted my copy book too much because they're all clamouring for me to go back! All being well, the next time will be on 17th November. I'm pretty worn out now but it was so worth it! Best morning I've had for simply ages!!

If you've got that amount of stuff to cut out (regular production line!) I can understand why the Vagabond would be a much better bet than the CB. More (or perhaps I should say less?) power to your elbow!

Hugs,
Shoshi

Hi Neet, me again! Thank you sooo much for all your lovely comments on my blog!! Awesome! I'm so glad you like my work. That's a very good idea to make up some gear wheels etc. to sell. I've got my steampunk mirrors on my Etsy store but nothing has sold yet, sadly. I was planning to make up some embellishments to sell, but it will have to wait till I've finished making my Christmas presents.

That's a really brilliant tip about the heat mats! I must try that. Old place mats would just end up in the bin or charity shop once they get manky... Sorry you're still so poorly and hope you get over it soon. Colds are the absolute pits. I tend to get them really badly because my immune system's affected by the M.E. so I dread getting them!! Good you've got the iPad though, nice to be able to be online while in bed!!

What a good idea taking some mould compound with you when you go out! Wow! Wish I'd thought of that! I do tend to look at things in a different way these days - "Can I make a mould out of that?" Lol!

You take care hun, rest and keep warm, and get well soon!!!

Hugs,
Shoshi
