A Day At The Beach

Saturday saw us setting off for the long drive to Santa Monica Beach.  It was glorious - the area and the weather.  Unfortunately Chas had been playing around with the camera and the settings had been changed - consequently all the photos turned out blue.  Because it was such brilliant sunshine I could not see a thing when I was snapping away and it was not until we got inside a shop that we realised what had happened.  I was too weary with my poor old 'pudding feet' to go back and start all over again.  Guess it is a good excuse to visit again next time we are here.

Apologies for the photos:

This was after the error had been discovered and it is a giant sand roller.

I had heard all about Muscle Beach so we headed off for Venice Beach which I understood incorporated Muscle Beach.  I was rather surprised to see the front completely littered with shops and stalls selling all sorts of weird and wonderful things.  Last year we had gone to Haights Ashbury in search of a bit of "flower power" and I had been disappointed that I had not seen any 'hippies' - well, I guess they all relocated to Venice Beach.

No, I was not tempted

Then it was time to head home, call for something to eat and get a reasonable night's rest in readiness for THE SUPERBOWL PARTY!

Ahh look at all that sun!!!!!!!!!! I'm sat here reading your warm post with ice cold tootsies. I'm thinking I'll be taking a hot water bottle to bed with me. Don't worry about the blue tinted photos, they can be colour corrected with photoshop - chat to me about it when you return. Pxx
