WOYWW 330

Gosh, Wednesday has come around a bit too quick for me this time.  Well, it is really Tuesday when I am doing this but have a medical appointment at 8 am tomorrow (who starts work this early?) so will be flying by the seat of my pants in the morning.

Nothing been moving in the craft world and it should have been but I did do a skeleton and cut it out to use with one of the skulls I had done on holiday.  Didn't want the page to be like the other one with the two skulls on so this now wants sticking down.  Before I bare (like it) my desk I will show you another journal page or two in my almost completed art journal book.  Just need to think up witty words to put on each page in my journal and get it truly finished, sadly I am useless at that.

Made her from an umbrella and two toadstools - not sure whether she needs arms or not.  What do you think?

I call this one Evil Edna - I don't like calling it that but it sprung to my mind as soon as I saw it - my mum was Edna and she was the bestest mum in the whole wide world so why do I think of this female with the stare as having the same name?  Odd!  Still one page to be decorated on the left hand side.

Now my desk - well this is it - with the 'skelly' waiting to be stuck down.  Hopefully will do it before Thursday.

That's it as I must get an early night in and there are things to be done before I put my head down so I will leave you to pay Julia a visit, read all about the plans for the Halloween get together and visit other desks.

Night night!

Can't Believe We Have Been Home a Week

Wow, time certainly flies.  It does not seem a week since we were in sunny Spain and it was quite a shock to find how cool it is in the evening here, in fact we have had lovely mornings but it seems to have gone off in the afternoons leading to the cold nights.

Had a lovely holiday - our second visit to Nerja (outside Malaga for those who are not familiar with it) and I just love the place.  I think the views at Balcon de Europe take some beating and the ice cream is just amazing.  I had to have two blobs every time we went there.

We stayed in the same hotel as last time because we could have a sea view and I loved it.  There was so much going on that there hadn't been when we were there in April.  Entertainment each evening but we didn't join in until the last night when we played Flamenco Bingo - and I won a line.  That meant I had to wear a hat and do a bit of Spanish Ole dancing before I collected my winnings (or was that the drink that caused that?) much to the delight of the Spanish youngsters sat at the next table to us.  They were all boys, aged between 6 and 12, I would say, and they took great delight in bringing me their Bingo cads and telling me the names of some of the numbers IN ENGLISH!  What lovely children they were and so well mannered.

Chas joined in the water aerobics but because I have no balance on account of my injured ankle I just sat and watched but then I did do the exercises as best I could from my sunbed and was joined by my friend Sue (just met) and the next day we had two others behind us and one lady on the balcony joining in too.

Our guy was hilarious and so much fun

not bad on the eye either

Early in the holiday we caught the little town bus which goes round in a loop every hour and we went for a wander and came across this road where I fell in love with the lovely white painted homes

This led us down to a wonderful view of Burianna Beach

The road down was very steep and I think you need to walk back up which is an impossibility for me but I did read somewhere that it is almost like a little town of its own.

Oh dear, these photographs make me miss the place more than ever ... and I thought it was this bottle that I missed

For, virtually a non drinker, I did rather enjoy this.  Next time it won't be teabags I'll be bringing back - hard shell suitcase here I come.

WOYWW 329

I'm Home!  And got a sore throat, plus kind of symptoms of a cold (hot and then cold) - those damned flights get me time after time but I had a great holiday.  I even managed to get a bit of crafting done, in my journal on the plane, and a bit on the balcony of the hotel.  Had a great holiday though and met a lovely couple from Gloucester. did poolside aerobics on my sun-bed and won a line at Flamenco Bingo (despite the caller beginning with "37" whilst holding "47" in his hand).  Photos to follow over next few days.

Now to reality.  Oh the ironing is piling up, think I have more or less done washing for the time being and now it is time to put the summer stuff away and get out the winter woollies again.  Brrr!!!

Reality was also that I had not sent a birthday card to a friend so it was get down to it yesterday.  Had another to do for a lovely lady at the club so the first thing I did was to get them out of the way.  Here is my desk mid making

Thankfully, before they hit the post box,  I realised that my friend's birthday is October and not September - phew!  Can't even blame it on jet lag after a short flight from Malaga.

Special thoughts are winging their way to Shaz (Silverwolf) and thanks to her hubby, Doug, for keeping us all in the loop, good to hear she is progressing now after such a shaky start.

Want to see more?  Pop along to Julia's blog and see what everyone is doing.

WOYWW 328

As mentioned last week, I made a card for my dear friend Mary in America and didn't show it in case it had not arrived in time.  Here it is now.

One of my favourite face stamps which gets used over and over again.  Come to think of it I could have used one of my others from a plate with lots of lovely girl faces on.  Anyway, this was done on a cream card but then I used white card for the Christmas Roses.  Why Christmas roses in September?  Well, they are reasonably flat for postage and she did get a message saying "fluff them up a bit please".

My desk at home is just as it was last week but as I am unsure whether or not I can upload anything over here with the poor reception we get I thought I would show you that one again.  Boring or what!!  (oops, didn't clean it off did I?)

Am sure nobody else has a desk like mine so pop along to the stamping ground for much more interesting shots.

Am appealing for someone to link me again - any takers please.

WOYWW 327

Well, nothing to show on my desk so here is a card I made earlier.  The recipient won't see it as she is away on holiday and I don't think she even knows I have a blog anyway.  (OK so the script is sideways on - not meant to be script - just scribbles.)

This is one of those PaperArtsy backgrounds that I like so much.  In fact one of our members at Victoria Stampers told me how to do it and she is now going to teach it at our club as it has been admired so much.  Thrilled to bits as she will be a new tutor for us and she is a lovely person.

Hope someone can link me today as I might not be able to do it as I will be in (hopefully sunny) Spain, as I set off early doors this morning, by the time you all read this.

Just to keep Julia happy I will show you my desk as I left it.  Not showing you the push to the left and right tee hee!

Would have shown you another card but that will have to wait until next week now in case my friend in America has not got it yet, it was her birthday yesterday.

Well, that is the shortest yet from me.  Just one last thing which should have been first - thinking about Shaz (Silverwolf) and hoping she is feeling a good bit better by now.  Sendidng love to you Shaz!

WOYWW 326

Well, nothing much happening here.  Was demonstrating the MINC on Sunday at the Leigh Show and I loved it.  I wasn't too confident about how many I would sell at a small show, afterall it is a high end product, but I sold Seven - yes, SEVEN.  We were selling them at a very reasonable show price and I am hoping that this will be the same at the next show in Harrogate.  Now I need to make some samples for Tracey with the pieces I brought home so that is what is on my desk.  "Mincies" (pronounced like the fur coat) is the name I gave to my cards.  LOL

As usual here is another journal page, I made a while ago and forgot to blog, probably because it is one of my least favourites - followed by my lovely workspace - ready for WOYWW and the scrutiny of all my lovely blogging friends out there.  Take care, all of you.

The images that you see re the ones I put through the Minc on Sunday - now to turn them into cards - am thinking of things to do with the sheets of foil like the gold one in the front (got some ideas in my head - just need a machine again)

Just in case you forgot about the Oyster Stamps Blog Hop which I kicked off last Saturday the start of it all is here and you can join in now and play catch up.  Remember you need to follow the list at the bottom of my post and put a comment on each one - international members welcome too.
