Cannot believe we are half way through February already. Seems like only yesterday we were entering the month. It was only when I started to write this post up and enter a publish date that I realised there is only one week and two more days after this and we are in March. Please slow down, less sleep is the only answer I can think of and I need my sleep.
Last week I pondered about the Valentine card - to buy or make? Buying won and I cannot believe the price of the simplest of cards at a local high street shop - £3 for one line and a simple heart on the cover and one line inside. So I opted for one a bit better, well one I liked to be honest and paid another pound for the privilege. Going to start doing my 'special' Christmas cards now. Even if they take a considerable while to make.
Also last week I pondered on whether to buy the latest stamp release from Lavinia. Decided I did not want all the stamps (can I put the herb stamps in a previous garden tub instead of what is in it - well, I am going to give it a try and save on the number of stamps I want) and so bought a few and a couple of things I also wanted from my wish list. Total spend just over £100. And now I need (yes it is a need) some new ink pads - both Versafine Claire (don't buy the sets these days, just the ones I want eg I rarely use red or purple so don't need them all) and some Oxides. Which reminds me I did empty my Adirondacks out (well dh did them for me as it was too high to get them) so am a bit closer to a tidy up/cull but not so you would notice. The spare room does though, it's the dumping ground for the stuff I am getting rid of. I need to be ruthless!
One stamp included various words for use with my bee cards so now I can show you what I did the week before in my online class.
The mono one was shaded using HB - 6B pencils
Whilst doing the "cull" I have found things that I have bought in the past and not used, some things I must admit I no longer know what they are to be used for. Has anyone else done this? So I am going to spend some time on the internet looking ip what some of these lotions and potions are for and then maybe use them. In the meantime I am off to Sarah's Craft Shed for my weekly nose about. Join me, please do.

I get that. Back during The Great Declutter of 2016 I was ruthless as well. I had to be because I went through every single thing that I owned. All by category rather than room and I was ruthless. I loved it. The entire experience was and remains a game changer.
been there, done that with powders and stuff - got plenty of those! the cards look really good, and the words are perfect. Happy WOYWW Helen #2
Usually I'm in agreement with you and want the fast pace of life to slow down but right at this moment in time I'm wanting the next few weeks to fly by lol. Great to read you've made a start on your spring cleaning. If you haven't worked out what your mystery items are, you should post them on your blog next week and see if your followers know. Beautiful cards - especially the monochrome one!!!! P xxxxxxx
Well done you with the sorting. Your cards are really lovely.
Hugs,

I love your cards, the b/w shading and the ‘be yourself, bumble on’ text. When I find something long lost it’s such a celebration for me. The best part of sorting out. Home tomorrow, all being well.
Happy WOYWW

Cards are jolly expensive these days aren't they! I saw hubby bought a few (Valentines, Birthday, Anniversary) the other day and couldn't believe the prices. I'm still managing to make my birthday/occasion ones but I'd much rather scrapbooking and art journaling. Glad you managed to retrain yourself with the stamp buying and love the bee cards. Love Bees. I do love a good mystery Neet - perhaps you should share those items next week on your desk for all to see. The cards are fabulous and I especially love the monochrome! Settling down for a leisurely desk visit after a lovely lie in. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah
Taking my IPad onto my craft room to answer your question: Studio Acrylics Iridescent Blue, some Prussian Blue, Phtalocyanine Emerald, some Green Earth and some metallic Green. Possible some Coeruleum Hue (Daler Rowney). There has been many a time I have “had to have” something and never used it.🙃. I love those little bees, great cards, the blue shows up lovely on the khaki card. Happy WOYWW. Angela #15
I share your shock at the cost of cards these days, I but the odd one from the RNLI shop because (a) they’ve got a nice selection and (b) I get a volunteer discount! I generally do daft drawings or use G’s photos and make my own, nothing earth shattering but I enjoy doing it. You did have a splurge but most of it was necessities, but like me and the fabric/wadding etc, hope you enjoy using your new stash! And your cards are fab, I really love the mono one, gorgeous!

February always seems to go quickly especially as it's such a short month. I always like to make a few Christmas cards about now it makes life so much easier when you get to November and can't think what to make. Ruthless! now that's a hard one Lol! I don't know what you mean Lol! Every time I go looking for something I find something else that | bought and cannot remember why or what it was intended for, what are we like. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x14x
I just dropped a load of stuff off t The Hub as donations. And most of it was used, at least once, but much of it no more than that as a tester. How is it I still came home with a couple of new things? Determined to use them this week. Loving the BEE cards. Very cute. Errands then knitting yesterday so late but still Happy WOYWW!

Those bee area are making me smile Neet. They're gorgeous. And more like spring and summer which won't arrive fast enough for me. :) But yes, February has gone by quickly, and aren't you glad you can make such beautiful cards and not have to always buy them? I hope you can be ruthless in your cleaning too. I was only semi-ruthless when I did mine and now I look and think I should have been more. Well, next time I guess. hugs-Erika
